    Mayo substitute

My mom has food allergies and cannot eat reduced fat or fat-free mayo.  She is dieting and so many recipes call for mayo.  She has to use real mayo which is so high in fat.   Does anyone know of a substitute for reduced fat or fat-free mayo?  We have seen some recipes with a combo of mayo and yogurt.  If you leave out the mayo do you just increase the yogurt?  Will the consistency stay the same?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

I haven't tried this but should, a friend swore by it. Tofu takes on the taste of anything to add to it, so she would mix 1/2 tofu & 1/2 mayo.

My husband has dietary restrictions and we use mayonaise made with soy. We like the flavor, but is more expensive and usually have to purchase at health food store.
