We all burn things in pots and pans from time to time. I have found out that just covering the burn with water and putting a scoop of powdered Oxy-Clean into the water and slosh it around until burn is completely covered. Let sit overnight and the burn will lift right off. If it is not completely removed repeat. This has been a lifesaver redeaming my good cookwear and saving me from a lot of scrubbing which can damage pots also.
Thanks for the tip. Seems like I'm always wandering off and forgetting that something is on the stove. If I don't set the timer, I'll end up burning it.
The other product that really works for burned foods is salt, just sprinkle it on liberally and add water, leave for overnight and it lifts right off.

If you put a little water in the pan and about a Tablespoon of baking soda, heat it up, turn off and it will be easier to clean
I am notorious for burning popcorn in pans(yes,I still pop it myself.)My one pan has been burnt for quite awhile.Does salt or baking soda work on old burns?
I tried tha baking soda tip and it didn't work for me.I've got salt and water in it now.Maybe that will work better for me
