Apparently I am the only one not actually fascinated by ice glaciers! I've hiked on one, what it is, is piles of old dirty ice! But my oh my, drink the melting water, and you've found liquid heaven!! That is the coldest, purest drink you will drink! I swear! Maybe my non appreciation stems from the fact that I've seen many ice glaciers in my lifetime. Most people love to travel from Banff to Jasper, they love the ice fields. To me (and maybe me only??) I find the ice field ugly.
Why oh why??? What would make me think this way? I mean, I dont' blame others for being fascinated with ice fields and mountains and the vast openes of the north. On the other hand, I find fields of nothing, miles of flat land, and open fields an utter fascination, I love it! I love the prairies, think they are beautiful. The mountains are okay, but rather boring. I've been to the badlands of the US, driven days with nothing but road and sand, desserts and beyone, and never felt a dull moment! Endless sky, no trees, no mountain, nothing! Nothing(ness) fascinates me, as you can tell!
