What is on your menu for the Fourth of July?

We are going to a family pool party on Saturday.  I was looking for something new and exciting to make and I think I found it right here.  Did you see the Patriotic Taco Salad recipe featured on the home page?  It looks wonderful, fresh and exciting!  Just wondering what everyone else is planning for the holiday.....

Hi Birthday Sister ~  Kim, It's going to be quiet around here this year. Mr and I are just going to sit back and Chill~  The kids can do whatever they want to ~

Mr has requested Wings, That's a nice treat for us ~  and perhaps the old stand bys ~  Deviled eggs  and some kind of a cold pasta salad not mayo based??  I have had wonderful results with that dreamfields low carb pasta ~  I'm telling you that it is really nice ~

and naturally a few Appys ~  A new one ~  Bite sized Tomato and Mozz Tarts ~   and perhaps something with Spinach ??  Now this could change ~  and any given time ~  But for now this is the plan ~ Big Smile Janie

Hi Janie ~ that sounds like a delicious holiday menu!  Sometimes "quiet" is a good thing!  My DH will be away in NC on a golf trip with the guys.  The rest of us will be spending the 4th at my aunt's house with the family.  It should be a fun weekend.  Enjoy....

If I was going anywhere I'd take the Show off Tortellini pasta salad redraspberrygirl posted a loooooong time ago.  I had it in my "to try" file and brought it to our company cookout last week.  What a HUGE success, everyone absolutely loved it and I'm waiting for another excuse to make it.  I used the Caesar dressing instead of the Italian but I'm sure it would be fantastic too.

Tuscan Lemon Chicken, roasted red potatoes, salad and patriotic brownies. In - laws coming over, hopefully we can go in the pool. At this point it's a 50% chance of rain. We'll watch the race in Daytona and fireworks.

More food than you can shake a stick at. We are always invited to the neighbor 1/2 mile up the road for their annual pig roast. There will definately be the pig, oysters on the grill...my DH is in charge of that....smoked turkey, oodles of salads and desserts and other side dishes. Everyone brings something and they provide all the meats. We make two containers of home made ice cream every year and it is always gone. Before we get out of the car they are asking "what flavor this year?"

LOL Always vanilla and I think chocolate. I don't like the looks of the strawberries and peaches this week. Liz

Not anything new and different and exciting. Hoping to make some potato salad and three bean salad and hot dogs and beans...and maybe some leftover corn salad. Trying to make due with what I have so I don't have to do a store run, plus I am not off after all, so won't really have time to do anything really different. Taco salad sounds good though and so does the patriotic dump cake.

I am making grilled tri tip, green beans cooked in foil on the grill, garlic bread and fresh peach cobbler for dessert. Our friends are bringing pasta salad and home made vanilla ice cream. I think I will make some salsa to munch on, since we have wonderful tomatoes and chilis in the garden.

Have a happy and safe Independence Day, everyone! God bless America!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  We will celebrate at home tomorrow with taco salad and other goodies.  Today I made rice pudding, blueberry pie and baked beans to take to our family gathering by the pool.

Enjoy the day and be safe.....

We celebrated my mom's 86th.  I made America's Test Kitchen Cole slaw - delicious and I had to give everyone the recipe.  I made sweet and Yukon gold German potato salad.  My husband grilled Citrus-Marinated Pork Tenderloin that we served with Jezebel sauce and fresh herb aioli.  That's a keeper!  I made roasted green beens from the Rebecca's Garden TV show, and Everyday Food's tomato crisp.  Glad there are leftovers so I can rest today!!!  Hope everyone had a great day.
