Spaghetti are very highin carbohydrates and make you PUT ON weight.

The best way to lose weight eat loits of veggies and fruit, less starches and fairly low fat andmay I suggest you ask your doctor for advise because everybody is different and has a different metabolim.

What works for one may not work for another. If not your doctor, ask your hospital ntrionist/dietitian.

I O don't have much faith in diet books because everybody is different.

I know low fat is better for us, but to me,, low fat means no taste. I think IF you use everything in moderation you'll be OK.

A low fat diet doesn't have to be flavorless.  Use seasonings, sauces to your advantage.  And I disagree that pasta is bad.  Everything in moderation.  Now if you load your plate, that's another thing.  Have a cup or so of spaghetti round your meal out with a salad, maybe french bread and a piece of fruit for later.  You should feel satisfied.  You can add lots of veggies to your spaghetti, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, tomatoes, what ever you like.  There is a recipe for baked spaghetti that has lots of veggies, but I don't have it at hand right now. Take you time to enjoy your food.

It actually makes me feel sick when I see someone with a huge portion of spaghetti on their plate.  I don't serve spaghetti very often, but there is a place for it.  I'm sure DH would like it more often
