Oh Shadowtails.....have you put your chair out yet????

    for the parade????

LOL, I just wondered if you were one of those who put your chair out early this week. I have considered going to the parade, but as I hate crowds, and know that I could NEVER find a good spot to watch the parade (not being from the area) I figured I'll go to the Aquatorium down in Monongahela and watch the fireworks tomorrow night.

    What do you have plannned?

Hey Lisa!  How ya been?  I need to catch up here someday.  No, I've never put out a chair, I always promptly step infront of whoever has a chair where I feel like watching the parade and then sit on the curb. lol  It is way more fun for the kids to sit on the curb cause it is easier to grab the candy.

I'll definately be at the parade, it is the best and I have always loved it.  The 4th is one of the few great childhood memories that people can relive over and over.  Did you know it is the 2cnd largest in the country?  (at least I'm pretty sure thats what the reporter said)

Haley will be carrying a banner this year for the local VFW.  She is very excited.

Then it is off to the house for quick burgers and blueberry pie.  Then off the the park for swimming, games, music and more food.  (the pool is free that day for anyone and so are the festivities)  Then we will stop at a friends house for some more food/ drinks then roll down the hill to the fireworks.

Thought about doing the regatta this year (I've never been to it) but funds are tight and I think swimming would be more fun for the kid.

How about you?  I've heard that the fireworks are great to see at the village in the parking lot.  Have you ever watched them from there?

I'm too old to sit on a curb.....LOL!!!!!!!! It better be a high one!!! I'd have to roll onto my knees and then get up.......ok, now I'm laughing too hard with the vision of that!

Today is my mom's birthday and my nephew's is on Monday. To tell you the truth, we have been to some sort of picnic or event every weekend since the middle of May and we are all just too pooped out to do anything. My mom says if she has to make or eat anymore potato salad she's going to lose her mind! We have had enough salads, chicken, burgers and hot dogs to last us a lifetime. Us girls were going to go to lunch with my mom today, but then my sister's bil passed away on Monday this week. In fact, his funeral was today down in your town at one of the funeral homes......don't know which one. Anyway, so we couldn't go to lunch today so we were planning on tomorrow. Well I just got a call from my younger sis that she's going to have something at her house tomorrow and just do hot dogs on the grill.

    Ugh.

I'm thinking I'll just go to lunch with my mom and skip the hot dogs.

We're heading to the Mon for the fireworks. Never have gone to the Village to watch them. Where are they settting them off at? At the Village or somewhere else but just using the Village parking lot to watch from???

When I grew up in the city, we would sit on our front porch and get a view of 3 fireworks shows.....we could see Brentwood, Caste Village and I think it was South Parks all at the same time. We lived up on a hill so we got a great view of the South Hills.

The fireworks down on the Mon are really great too because they shoot them off from across the river. I've also seen Wellsburg, WV fireworks. My parents don't live too far from the border and 2 years ago we drove down to I guess it was Wellsburg Park and watched and they were really good.

    I just love fireworks...............always have.
