My opinion is that someone or somebody got dirt on her that could stick.  She couldn't play with the big boys.  And the dirt isn't something innocent.  Someone has something over her that is forcing her to back off from political office.  She would never ever succeed as a presidential candidate.

Nite Owl I watched both CNN and FOX and they DID say she was resigning. Cavuto specifically asked his guests about her resignation and repeatedly used that term.

I was talking about the headline shown on the screen, not the discussion.

It amazes me all the speculation and different opinions, when nothing has been announced officially.

I promised I wasn't going to get in the middle of  this, but I've got to respond to this one.

This is totally disgusting.  Superimposing another person's face (whether it be a conservative or liberal) is just plain sick.  Trig can't help he was born with Down's syndrome.  I guess some people would rather have had Sarah Palin abort  the child.  As I remember, that also came up during  the election.  Yes, Sarah has an interest in special needs children.  She has one!

I don't care how many people were in the audience in that video, or who they are/were, Super, the whole thing sounds completely stupid.  Just about as stupid as David Letterman's comments about Bristol Palin, which he never really did apologize for *to her*.

Sarah Palin has been raked over the coals since she was nominated by John McCain as his running mate.  The liberal media immediately descended on Alaska to pull up dirt on her, and they found it.  She was investigated by the Alaska Attorney General for ethics violations; only one of which was true, and ALL were dismissed.  The media still continued to hound her even after that.  Then there was the joke by David Letterman, which was truly mean, and he never did apologize to Bristol.  Now, the media is hounding her again, saying there must be an underlying reason she resigned.  More  than one person on this BB has even implied that Sarah must be sick *meaning in the head* because she resigned during her term.

I don't blame her for callling it quits.  She stated that she and Todd, not to mention her staff, have spent 80% of their time and almost $250,000 defending herself against those who would undermine her ability to get the job done.  The whole scenario stinks like dog doo-doo.

JanetPlanet...what makes you think she is backing off from political office? I didn't hear that from the press. I only heard bits of her speech but didn't hear it from her either. Liz

From the Mudflats Blog In Anchorage AK....   this site does not post anything unless it has been well researched...

the following was posted earlier this eveing!

Okay, I’ve now been able to get independent information from multiple sources that all of this precedes what are said to be possible federal indictments against Palin, concerning an embezzlement scandal related to the building of Palin’s house and the Wasilla Sports Complex built during her tenure. Both structures, it is said, feature the “same windows, same wood, same products.” Federal investigators have been looking into this for some time, and indictments could be imminent, according to the Alaska sources.   From Brad Blog

    Whoo Whoo!!

I'll have to tell DH -- he said this evening -- "Did you ever see her house?  Could not have a house like that on a govenors salary."  I said that no I had not and that possibly Todd made good money or they came from $$.  Time will tell.

    Re: Congratulations, Alaska! Palin quits!

Why congratulations? Because you don't happen to agree with her beliefs? No wonder so many good people don't want to be in politics. There used to be a time when people could discuss things intelligently...respectfully and then part ways with a pat on the back and still be friends. Now all we get is snarky vicious comments by people who probably never even bothered to find out who she is, her deeply held beliefs or read her very impressive resume.  I am an independant/conservative, and I don't agree with her every thought, for instance the whole Wolf thing incenses me, as well as her moose hunting. But I was sickened as I watched while Governor Palin was subjected to the most hateful trashy tabloid garbage, rubbish that NO one else would ever be allowed to say about Obama, Hillary, etc. i.e.: People wishing her to be "raped by big black men" (Sandra Bernhart), invading and dissecting the lives of her family in ways I have never seen (NYTimes, etc), degrading her religion (K. Olbermann, M. Dowd and R. Maddow), making jokes about her husband molesting her children (SNL) and so on. Sheesh such hate for this woman... and all she did was accept the VP nomination and not agree with your positions. How would you like that to happen to you, your spouse, your parents, sister, brother, one of your children or even a female democrat? I mean seriously..sit there and think about it for a minute, imagine yourself in her shoes. Something tells me you wouldn't be very happy. Why can't you just engage in thoughtful dialogue and leave it at that. Why not try to be the "change and hope" you probably voted for? This will all come back on you in some form. Sarah Palin is a bright, capable, intellegent woman with approval rating in the 80's, and as a women she's had alot of firsts.  Why not just honor that? NO ONE deserves this kind of treatment.  Why can't we all just be kind to each other, give each their HONEST due, and then agree to disagree? In the end lifting people up is always better for everyone especially for your own soul.  It takes alot more courage to take up for someone you don't like or agree with than to go with the flow. We need to change this rude hateful climate!

     Walk a mile people.
