    Canadian Corner 08/13/09

    Good Morning Friends,

A nice day ahead for us, sunny hope the nasty humidity doesn't show up.

Anica, how did DGD do with the cross stitching lesson?   How were the chicken wings?

Aleida the question you asked yesterday about what age you would like to be. I would have to say  27   my children were very young and at a nice age.

Cathie PEI so nice to see you dropping by it has been a long time. How are you and the family? I will have to look up to see if I still have your email addy, if not I'll send you a PM.

Hi JP,  I bet the raspberries are so good. It's André favourite, the only jam he eats is raspberry. Cool at your place.

Cathy, what a handsome boy hair and all. I love babies, they are so dependent on their parents.  What a precious bundle of joy.

Poor Aleida those nasty blackflies sure do bite don't they.  Is there any product that deters them?

Pat, enjoy your crop tour, it will be a delightful change for the both of you.  Once you get home back to reality....WORK.

We have some MIA posters, Marilyn, Char, Meesh, and of course Grammapreach, come and chat with us we miss you.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning all,

Just a quick fly past before we head out.

We've had heat and humidity.  Sure was hard to breathe yesterday.   Hopefully it will be cooler today and a rainy stretch is in the forecast.  Will believe that when I feel raindrops.

Off and running again.  Hope your Thursday is terrific.             Pat

    Good morning ladies.

Maria, did I say blackflies???  I meant house flies and they are pesty --- DH just finished swatting a few.  Blackflies are a pain too but they mostly stay outside and they are a spring thing.

DH works again today.  I have an appointment with the ear/nose/throat specialist to remove wax from my ears.  Then I can hear better -- obviously.  I go every three months.  And then I go to Foodland to sell tickets on our quilt -- not something I like to do but I do offer my time twice.  This is the second time.  The first one was very short because the lady I was doing it with got quite cold -- that air conditioning in stores-- and we quit after 2 hours.  I think they wrote me down for a third time -- I'll wait and see -- I'll probably do it but I won't like it -- and next year TWICE and that is it -- afterall there are lots of women in the church -- maybe not all part of the group -- but what would it hurt for them to offer up one afternoon in the sumer??

DH is watching TSN and they are showing all the fights that happened for one year in baseball -- countdown from 10 -- can't believe how juvenile these players are -- starting to look like hockey is what I told DH.  geez!!  I just shake my head.

going to have my coffee now

    Aleida

Last night I told Rogers I would switch our land line (telephone) from Bell to Rogers.  If I heard correctly the monthly bill will be $10-12 cheaper -- I'll wait and see but I tend to believe it could be.  What is interesting is that because DD in London also has Rogers land line that any calls we do to each other are NOT considered long distance.  Anyone I call with a Rogers line is just like a local call.  That alone will be a convenience.

Hi! I've been in a training session for the last couple of days. I've been coming home very tired and just wanting to go to bed. Today is the last session. Yeah! Safe travels to Dolores & Earl as they travel to their daughter's place.
Will stop by later! Have a good day!

    Re: Canadian Corner 08/13/09

    Good morning all,

I kept waiting for someone to come find me in the deep dark caverns of all the closets, but had to wonder around until I found my own way out. Whew!

Boy have I been busy. Moving furniture, painting, vacuuming and cleaning carpet. Add to that mix, we had the boys for 3 days. Now that was an experience. LOL. Carson is crawling ninty to nothing. He doesn't like baby gates at all. At home he has lots of room to go where he wants. But they do have a baby gate at the top of the stairs and he heads for that to try to get out. I enjoyed having them both but at once??????   Shows me why I had mine when I was young. LMBO

I got all the canned goods sorted and put in the closets. I marked each box and also made a list of how many and where I put them. How smart is that? brag, brag. Now I don't have to go to each box to find what I want. I'm a little low on spaghetti sauce but my tomatoes didn't co-operate this year. I just had enough to can 17 pts of juice. Today I have to do jalapenos and this evening Mic is bringing hers down to do. Everything is on the way out now. The tomatoes were cracking so bad and the cucumbers & squash were rotting on the vines, we had so much rain at one time. Richard planted my greens for me but now we have NO rain to get them started. Par for the course. We had a bad garden year.

Oh, our neighbor came across the road the other day & told me, I don't know if you heard or not but a black panther loose on our road, in fact he went across our back yard today and off into the woods. Needless to say we keep closer watch on the small dogs. The larger ones stay under our storage building or in their doghouses most of the time.

Where are the pcitures of Shawn? Cathy do you have my email address? If not, I'll pm you with it. I bet he has really grown since you brought him home. They don't stay little very long.

I need to get going, got to put a few more items in their place and get going on jalapenos. I have a Pampered Chef slicer that really cuts down on my work load. If I just remember to keep my fingers out of it. I try to wear rubber gloves but I seem to cut them & the juice gets in them.

I'm getting Conner tomorrow and Richard has grand jury duty. He have to go every other Fri, Aug & Sept.

Hope to get back sooner, next time. Hope you all have nice days. Ours is unusually cool for Aug. and we had one of the coolest Julys on record. Not Ky weather at all. The most hot weather we had was 16 days straight in the 90's in June. The hottest on record for that month. See how weird?

Marilyn, no I don't have your email address.  I have very few of the CC's email addresses.  I want to post a pic, but can't remember how to do it.  Just the profile pic, which is so small.

Well, the little guy is fussing and it's time to eat.  Maybe after I will take him out for a walk.  It was a pretty good night last night, but he was a bit stubborn about going back to sleep for a bit.  Mommy's a bit tired today.  Fresh air may wake me up, plus it's going to be a hot one later on so I'd like to get out before then.

Oh yes, Cathy...photos, please. I have no idea how to do this, or the time to figure it out. We'd love to see pictures of your little one.

10*C and good possibility of showers...I hope they are right. The high for today is 16. I love it.

I'm off to take a shower and then get ready for work. Wishing you all a great day...JP

Cathy, he is so precious.  Enjoy him to the fullest, even when he's cranky. LOL Goes along with it.
