CREAMY PINEAPPLE SALAD WITH CANDIED PRETZELS

This was a new salad to me and quite a bit different.

    PRETZEL SALAD

    Cream together thoroughly:

    8 oz cream cheese

    ½ c sugar

    Stir into above mixture

1 large can crushed pineapple, well drained.

    8 oz Cool whip

    Store in refrigerator.

Mix together and bake on cookie sheet with sides in 400° oven for 5 minutes. Watch very closely. Remove from oven and let cool.

    1 stick butter, melted.

    ½ c sugar

    2 c crushed pretzels

Stir into salad just before serving.

Have you eaten this and was it good? How long do you store the first mixture in the rifrgierator? Do you let the butter, sugar, pretzel mixture cool before adding? Also how crushed still with pieces in it ?

I made this and thought it was quite tasty. The contrast of flavors was good.

I would chill the first mixture at least 2 hours or longer.

I broke the pretzels by hand so there were some chunks.  You do cool the pretzel mixture before adding to the first mixture.

I served half of the salad with half of the pretzels and served the rest the next day.  Half of the salad was plenty for 4 people.

Click on the recipe title below. It will take you to the recipe and a way to change the serving size as the pretzels will become soggy after a few hours.

I like the fact that you can put in for 4 servings or 8 and it gives you the right amount of ingred. to add. Much easier than thinking about it. I got lost in the videos over there. Thank you this sounds good.

I made this today.  I waited for about an hour, til the mixture and pretzels cooled.  I intend to keep the pretzels separate and to add them when I dish out a portion of the creamy mixture.  It is out of this world!  Thanks for the recipe. By the way, I am diabetic, so I made mine sugar-free -- with s.f. Cool Whip and scant half-cups of Splenda.  I crushed the pretzels in a plastic bag with a rolling pin.  The crumbs are better if they are a little coarse.  Mary Kay
