    5 Minute Individual Potato Gratins

    5-Minute Individual Potato Gratins

    Recipe courtesy Melissa d'Arabian

Prep Time: 15 min Inactive Prep Time: hr min Cook Time: 40 min Level: Easy Serves: 4 to 6 servings

    Ingredients

    Vegetable spray
2 large russet potatoes, roughly peeled and thinly sliced
    1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
    2 green onions, finely chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
    3/4 cup heavy cream

    Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Spray 8 muffin tins with vegetable spray. Layer potato slices, cheese, and onions into each muffin cup. Season
with salt and pepper and top each gratin with 1 or 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Cover with foil and bake for
30 to 40 minutes, removing the foil halfway through cooking time. Invert gratins onto plate and serve.

Spray the tins very well with Pam-the gratins tend to stick. I used Monterey Jack cheese, and no onions. These were just fabulous. I got 12 servings from 2 large potatoes.

These are fabulous! I used jack cheese, and I had enough potatoes for about 12 gratins. try these-you won't be sorry.

Sounds good. I would only use 1 potato as there is only two of us in the house.

I made these and sprayed my pans with Pam...they stuck like crazy, but they did have a good taste.  I used swiss cheese and it was almost like glu...LOL  I thought too, this was a neat recipe, but I will not try it again.

I made these for four of us last Friday.  I used cheddar chesse, which was very good.  I found I should have let the gratins cool and settle before inverting them.  I used one baking potato and got 12 gratins.  Maybe receipe was for the huge muffin tin.  One wasn't enough for one serving.  Next time I will use individual 6 oz custard cups and then won't have to invert them.   I ended up serving them individually to guests out of the muffin tin.   Everyone really liked them.
