Susie,  What lovely wedding pictures.  You made a very pretty Mother of the Groom.  I loved the way the families joined hands for prayer--I am sure for a blessed life for the pretty bride and handsome groom.  Carolyn

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

    God Evening Tea Angels,

Today was a lovely day, sunny but cool.  It looks promising tomorrow and is supposed to be warm on halloween.  It would have been a great day to work outside but I wsa so tired I took a nap after work until the man from the heating company came over to give me estimates on a new furnace.  It is going to be more expensive than I first thought.  this evening I went to a Scripture class at church.  They go over the Scripture readings for this coming Sunday.  This is a new thing for me and I have enjoyed the couple of meeting I have been too.  it is a nicxe group of people and I like having a better understanding of the readings during mass.

Mary, I hope you get some pleasant late autumn days to enjoy that lovely new resaurant.  It sounds delightful.

Donelle, It was nice to see you.  Your tea party will be here before you know it.

Carolyn, I am glad that your Yorkie Boy is perking up.  Try to get some rest.

Susie,  What lovely pictures.  It looks like it was a beautiful wedding. the bride and groom look so happy and her gown was beautiful.  You cetainly were a proud mother of the groom and what a nice surprise having him walk you down the aisle. How was the weather?  No matter how much we plan for these events, its the one thng w can't control.

Well, I am going to say good night.  I still have to bake some pumpkin muffins for my Brownie meeting tomorrow.

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

    Evenin' Tea Angels,

It's a rainy night and when I pulled down the bedroom shades tonight I thought to myself that it seemed like I had just pulled them up and here it was time to go to bed again.....I don't like all this early darkness and short days (so it seems).

Carolyn, so sorry about your sweet Yorkie not feeling well and hope he is improving; this is always such a worry when a beloved pet is ill. My Maltese Roland has an enlarged heart accompanied by a persistent cough and it's upsetting to hear him cough.Did he have to go back to the Vet?

Suzy, thanks for sharing the wedding pictures - you have a lovely and good looking family - the bride's dress as well as yours were beautiful and you all looked so happy. Congratulations to the bride and groom and may they live a wonderful and blessed life.

My pillow is calling to a sleepy me, so goodnight all - wishing you a restful and peaceful non-worrying night. We could all use that in abundance....Mary, thinking of you and so happy about your good news.

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Whoosh! The winds of October are racing clouds across the sky this morning. I think it is wise to be going in their direction and not thinking of going back, until they are spent.

Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea. May health and blessings fill your cup to overflow! My tea this morning is plain black with plenty of sugar and lemon, almost a meal in itself. It's raining leaves...and a squirrel who landed right on top of our pool cover! Just when DH was going to fish him out with the net he learned to swim. I can't tell you how grateful I am.

We went on the grand tour of the health department and Disneyesque lines to get flushots. A relieved feeling comes quickly when its all behind you. DH and I did not get home until 11pm and there were hundreds of people behind us.

I was so impressed with the patience and quality of people and the goodness of children...except for Little Mary...who was right behind me, lol. I think I have a case of whiplash from turning my head each time her mother addressed her. She was a wonderful little child, very enthusiastic given the circumstances. Her mother should be nominated for an award for a mother's eye in the back of her head.

It is with a regret that I carry the news of Dear Earl [Kathy's DH] illness. We will meet another time and it will be savored even more for the wait. Now to pray the happy travellers home on Saturday!

Dear Carolyn, I want to come and make you a pot of soup to ease your feelings. May God send healing to your precious pet. Nothing loved is ever lost...but we still ache for tomorrows. I truly hope peace comes sweetly to visit you.

Dear Susie, Pictures speak such an overflow of love...A cup raised to passed, present and and future joy!

Dear Hedgie, I hope your new furnace keeps you warm and pleasant for many winters to come. I wish things could cost less than we hoped. I love your scripture enlightenment journey.

Dear Donnelle, How lovely to have you come and share your doings. I am adding a little southern drawl to my midwestern winds...Ribbons of leaves make lovely centerpeices. Blessings on all your endeavors.

Dear Elza, I am relieved to hear that your DH is near to feeling life lifted up! I hope your day is lovely and fruitful.

Yoo Hoo....Carole....are you up and ready for work? Here is your teacup filled with a special smile.

As November blusters it way straight through October, lets all have tea!

Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

Good afternoon dearest of angels,  we had a little sprinkle of rain this morning and right now it is sunshine, everywhere.  Looks like it is going to be a pretty afternoon.  I think I am going to do nothing today.  Already done the laundry,  all that is left is to clean the kitchen after lunch.  Well everyone has come in to eat, so let me run and have a great day everyone

    Hugs

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

    Good morning, Mary and friends!

We enjoyed the little ones who came to our door last night. We only had about 25 again. Left-over candy is not a good thing for me, lol! Cin-Cin wasn't quite sure what to make of it all, except that she was very much wanting a treat (doggie kind) after hearing "trick-or-TREAT" all evening :)

Happy Belated Birthday wishes to our Elza! I hope you have a spooktacular birthday weekend!

Yesterday the winds howled all day, bringing down most of the leaves from the trees......directly to OUR front lawn :)  There will be lots of mulch for my raised garden bed at least.

Thank you for your comments on the wedding pictures. We truly did  have a wonderful time with plenty of tears from beginning to end -- from me, anyway :)

Have a great Sunday -- hope you all turned your clocks back! Enjoy that extra hour doing your most favorite thing!

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

God Sunday...a little typoo...but it fits....Good Sunday dear Friends in Tea. I don't know what happened to yesterday as the weather blew in a Meniere's day and I slept it away. Revived by evening we very much enjoyed the neighborhood trickortreakers.

Not another moment can pass without a belated, but heartfelt birthday with to Dear Elza! If I could pick a birthday for myself it would have to be Halloween! I offer you this little blessing I ran into...I hope you like it. "May you always walk in sunshine. May you never want for more. May Gods anels rest theri wings right beside your door."

After a lovely visit to a little cafe offering crepes, I am just wild for making them. This shop fills, then folds them into quarters and slips them into a triangle of aluminum foil for handheld eatting. How perfect is that? DH selected the ham and cheese and I had turkey, swiss and a drizzle of cranberry sauce. For dessert we shared a strawberry cheesecake crepe...although DH half was definitely smaller than mine, lol.

Just think of all the things you can fill them with...and how portable! I myself had a trial and error of getting them just right in a frypan and so an electic one will be on my Christmas list.

Speaking of Christmas, this is the best time to plan a Holiday Tea Party. It doesn't have to be hard to do...a few friends, a pot of tea, some little sandwiches and little bite dessert. A favor a the placesetting and good conversation. There are many tea companies that offer holiday only blends with spices and lovely names. Twinings in particular never disappoints in quality or flavor.

Your very grateful hostess and friend, Mary

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Thanks for all the birthday wishes -- I have always enjoyed my Halloween birthday, despite all the "were you a trick or a treat" and "you must be a witch" jokes over the years. There is always plenty of candy for my birthday and you can't argue with that!

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

November comes and November goes,With the last red berries, and the first white snows.

With night coming early and dawn coming late, with frost on the pumpkin and ice on the gate.

    Robert Frost

It is official, girls, we are heading into Holiday weather for certain now. Ready or not!!

The time change has me a bit frazzled, but my body will adjust in time.  When I was teaching, it always frazzled the students a bit ,too.  None of us are creatures that like change most of the time, but we tend to settle down  after a bit.  Thank Goodness.

Wishing you all a restful night and a blessed Monday morning.  Carolyn

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Dear Elza, What a warm pleasant feeling I have reading your post. Contentment makes you sparkle! I was thinking about your magazine article, have you made progress with reading Don Quioxte in Spanish?

Dear Carolyn, Thank you so much for the lovely poem. It makes winter sound not only beautiful...but desirable. I have fought the time change with varying methods. For years, I refused to change my car clock or watch...I just changed when I did what. It exasperated my family and made my friends chuckle. I like to think I knew the 'real time', at all times, lol.

Please join me in a Good Morning to November. Your friend Mary

Good morning dearest of angels,  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I have been on the sickly side  all weekend.  Do feel somewhat better this morning.

Elza,  Happy late birthday.  Hope you had a geat day.   I get the same jokes about my birthday.  I was born on Thanksgiving and I everyone says they got a turkey.

Well got to run and find something to eat for lunch.  Have a great day everyone,  will be back tonight

Re: Good Morning Dear Friends in Tea, October 1st, Sweeping out the dust and cobwebs,

Carolyn, thanks for the poetry to start my day. I love Robert Frost.

Mary, I have made NO progress in Don Quijote. I'm looking for a really well-annotated edition and haven't gotten there yet. But having it down in writing is keeping me aware of it, and it is something I want to do.

Carole, LOL at your birthday comments! We know that you were just the perfect gift to be thankful for on Thanksgiving Day!

It's a beautiful crisp sunny morning, the sheets & towels are already on the line, and my coffee is flavored with Italian Sweet Creme. It's going to be a good day.
