    One Pot Beef Stroganoff

I came across this recipe that I haven't made for YEARS but trust me - it's delicious! I have added my notes but have made the original recipe too. When I would see sirloin on sale this was always the first recipe I thought of. I think the onion sour cream dip is what jazzes it up. Hope you try it......perfect weather & GRRRRRReat leftovers!

Beef Stroganoff *I usually make 1/2 recipe more or have doubled

1 lb ground beef *I use sirloin

    2 1/2 C water

    1 4 oz can mushroom stems & pieces ~undrained

    1 Tbl snipped parsley

    1 Tbl ketchup

1/2 tsp instant beef bouillon granules *I don't always have it

    1/2 tsp pepper

    4 oz. med egg noodles

    1 8oz container sour cream dip w/onion

    2 Tbls flour

In a 3 qt saucepan cook beef until brown. *I use my electric skillet Drain off fat. Stir in water, undrained mushrooms, parsley, ketchup, bouillon & pepper. Stir in uncooked noodles. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer covered 15 - 20 minutes or until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.

Stir together sour cream dip & flour, stir into meat/noodle mixture. Cook & stir until thickened and bubbly; cook & stir 1 minute more. Sprinkle with parsley, if desired.

Cathy, I love stroganoff! What brand of sour cream dip do you use? I'm not familiar with it?

    Thanks!

Susie, it's used more for a potato chip dip, the brand is Dean's.  They have a green onion and  french onion, I have always bought the french onion no matter what I'm using it for.  Such a great flavor, when I have leftover dip I like to stir a tsp or so into my scrambled eggs.  YUM!   Big Smile
