    Hi Denise,

My husband is running for Pinellas County Commissioner. His opponent has been there 10 years and has run unopposed in the last 2 races. It's about time and the incumbent is not happy about having challengers. She has 3!

Thanks for the ME advice...sometimes (most of the time) I forget. I figure my ME time is sleep. LOL!

    Have a great day!

Been lurking most of the week. This is my busiest week of the month, mostly at church. Three days this week I was at church morning and then again in the evening.

And, I have been helping Russell get ready for another week of bow hunting with his brothers. This time they go to brother Carl's place in the woods in central WI.

BTW, girls, watch what you say about white haired grannies in their late 70's. LOL Yes, DENISE, I am laughing.

PTL, right now I am pretty healthy except for my type 2 diabetes. But, I have that under control with good eating, exercise and one med. So, I still enjoy riding my ATV on the trails, line dancing, playing the handbells in church, etc, etc.

Hi Denise, that's 3 not 31...you're funny! Not a big turnout but some good bids and some high amounts. Got a few petitions signed too to get him on the ballot. He needs 1600+ signatures. You can pay $5,000 and get on the ballot, but we feel if you can't get the signatures, you shouldn't be on the ballot!

Happy thoughts and prayers as you bring your Mom home and wishing for a healthy road ahead.

Hi all. It will probably be monday before they send my dad home. I think that is a good thing. The more healed he is,the better.

Today has been a crappy day. It was Hayley's first and probably last basketball game. Mid 3rd quarted the coach called a time and yelled at Hayley so much she was in tears. it was the first game she has ever played. She wasn't screening right and wasn't switching people on defense. They had 4 practices and learned 5 offensive plays and didn't really touch on the basics at all. She was confused. When I went up to calm Hayley down the other coach told me if she couldn't handle it I should just get her out there. I was pissed! When I looked at him he told me not to give him that look. 9 yr olds should not have to handle a coach yelling at them and pointing fingers in their faces. I called the director of the program tonight and he is going to look into it. I guess he barred him from coaching a couple of years ago so he's not happy he was coaching again anyway. Hayley has played for different teams for years and has never came close to being in tears. Makes me mad that she doesn't want to play now just because of those 2 adults.

Hope everyone is doing well. Denise I hope you mom starts feeling better and does what she needs to do to get well.

    Have a good night

Ellen - Good Luck to your DH!  I admire anyone who wants to take on a public office.

Nancy - Good to see you check in with us.  Lots going on in your church from the sounds of it.  DH couldn't hunt this week with work and having to go to Ft. Leavenworth this weekend for some training.

Denise - Prayers still going to your family.  I hope your mother can see what she is putting your family through by not following dr. orders.  My father has always been pretty easy going but as he gets older, he's getting more set in his ways.  I guess at 84 years old as of yesterday, he's entitled.

Cassie - I'm glad that your father is going to come home tomorrow.  That will make it easier on your mother with not having to make that long trip to the hospital.  Hoping that he will make a much speedier recovery at home!   Also, you were also absolutely right to call the director of the BB league to report that coach.  I probably would have yelled at the coach right then and there.  You showed more restraint than I would have.

I had to work yesterday for a while, so I'm catching up on the housework today.  I made some banana bread today and am getting ready to go to the library and grocery store with Taryn.  There is a chili dinner and bake sale at work tomorrow, so I'm going to make some corn bread chili muffins to take.  New recipe that I'm going to try.

Sounds like everyone is busy busy busy.... guess it is getting to be that time of the year. MARY the chili luncheon sounds like fun. CASSIE I sure hope your Dad is listening more than my Mom... she better here or she will end up back in the hospital quicker than before. Regarding that coach... I would insist that Hayley be placed on another team... how dare he treat kids like that and she should not be subject to a abuse when they are supposed to be learning the game. Sounds to me like a frustrated High School BB "hero" reliving his youth. Not with my kid.... jerk! Who is running this league? My sister has taken her sons to church leagues and also through the Y where they both teach sportsmanship more than winning. Also out here the police depts. have leagues... so that they can get closer to the kids and they are very well run. All of these leagues have a rule where every kid plays a minimum of 1/2 of the game. Keeps the coaches kids and favorites from playing the entire game and no one else getting a chance except for part of a 1/4. As a former parks recreation director these two coaches would be out of my leagues. Hope all goes well with your Dad...We find out today if Mom is coming home... dr. hasnt released her yet. This is taking a toil on my Dad .... and I guess me too.... the unknown is what is scary. Have a blessed Sunday all.

    • Hello ya'll .... wanted to check in and say I'm still kicking ... have some Lupus health issues to recuperate from so hopefully it wont be long.
    • Did LYLE get to come home?  and how is he?  if I may ask, what happened with his health?
    • DENISE, I have found that when one gets older and older they become more outspoken and too many times stubborn as they have to change the relationship from being the parent to becoming the child again .... believe me ... it is not easy to accept this especially if you were a Type A.... and it is very difficult for the child to be the parent .... I am proud of you for speaking out when it has to be done ... my kids and Papa has had to at times be sharp with me especially about the hospital.  The CD was news to be also as I thought with the oxygen I would not have to worry about that.
    • Alrighty, I'll call this to a close .... dont feel so hot .... and I have no idea what is happening to my replies ... first no message appears and now I have dots.... haha
    • I pray for each one of you and your family every day .... big hugs, Granny

Hi folks!  Well, I think it has been more than a year since I stopped by.  I have thought of you all often.  I wish your families quick recoveries.  Looks like alot is going on.  I need to find the time, ambtition, creativitiy to do some scrapbooking.  I put it down and still have not picked it back up.  This school year I am trying to homeschool my youngest - first grade.  He asked me to.  We live in a county that alot of folks homeschool and we know a few.  He has done very well - me too.  I seem to stay focused my ADD does not kick in - hahaha  I hope to stop in more, I think I need to start putting some focus on the scrapbooking thing :-)

    Re: MissLizzy's Scrappin' & Stampin' Group Nov 1 - 14th

Hi Amy. It's good to hear from you.

Mary, I had a hard time not totally going off on the coaches. I already knew that some of the parents would have something to say about me going up there to Hayley. I really didn't want to make it harder on her by me making a big scene. Even though I really wanted to give him a big F U when he told me not to give him that look like I was a snotty child. Even before the incident with Hayley I was upset at how they were yelling at kids and some of the things they said.

Kids are out of school here till thursday.  It's going to be a busy few days with all the kids home.

My dad should be home today. Yea!!  Granny, he was admitted to the hospital with a bad abscess in his bottom that turned septic. He had 2 surgeries for it and was in a lot of pain. He also found out he is diabetic and these types of things are common so he will have to be really aware and if they think one is starting to go straight to the dr. It will be a bit of a lifestyle change for him but as long as he continues to get well it will be good.

    Have a great day!!

    Re: MissLizzy's Scrappin' & Stampin' Group Nov 1 - 14th

Hi everyone,  Sorry I have been MIA for a while.  I was busy getting ready for the craft show on the 7th.  It went okay, we made a little over our booth fee, TG.  Some didn't even do that.  It was a gorgeous Nov. day, & there were 2 football game playoffs in the area.  It was steady in the morning, but after lunch it was slow to none!

Cass & Lynn, glad to hear your Dad & DH is coming home or home.  I'm sure all will go well with his diabetes, you just have to keep track of the carbs, that is so much easier when trying to control blood sugar.

Willie has been doing better & has more energy now, so he's doing more & then eating more, & wanting snacks, so it is hard controlling his blood sugars, esp. at night.  Dr. said to increase his meds & see how it goes.  He has his echocardiogram on the 23rd on Nov. so we are hoping & praying for no signs of a leak!!  Then we see the surgeon on Dec. 7th and the cardiologist on Dec. 15th ( think!).  Hopefully they will release him to go back to work in January.  Hope our finances will last until then!

Denis, I hope your Mom is getting stronger & doesn't come home until she is strong enough.  So sorry to hear she had trouble with her cm levels.  Your Dad doesn't have any elevated levels, does he??  I never realized your body's level could increase!  Good that she got in there to the Hosipital.  Prayers out to others too, that may need them.

It is going to be a busy few days here.  Tomorrow we are going to a meeting on our Insurance changes for next year!  I will have to change my meds for my Osteoporosis.  $60 for 3 mos. supply instead of $25 is a big jump!  So, guess I will go to generic actonel now & take it weekly again :(  Then tomorrow night I'm going to the TOH Cooking school in town with a few friends.  It will be nice to get out for a few hours.  Then on Wed. the kids are here, they are off school for Veteran's Day.  Then Willie will go to Applebee's for his free meal, along with Sara, she will get one too since she is a Vet. Then we have the younger grandkids on the weekend.  Hunter has a Tai Kwon Doh tournement in Boscobel, WI.  Autumn & Xander have a bd party to go to, & the neighbor will take them.  Just have to get them ready!  That should be fun!  lol  Seems like something else is going on too, but don't know what it is right now.

Everyone have a great week.  You are all in my prayers.  Beth

I hope today is bringing people joy and peace.  I hope all of your family members who are not doing so well - get back to their old selves quickly.

It is so nice outside today.  For Nov and having 60 degrees with sun.  Awsome!

Cass - Boy, I hand it to you.  I would of embarrassed my kid.  I am sure I would of lost it.  I do not like anyone yelling at young children who do not belong to them.  What did you mean when the folks running the program were suprised that he was a coach?  Did I get that wrong? I am assuming he is a volunteer coach and they let him coach because they could not find someone else and now they are trying to figure out who to blame that he is out there??

What type of craft projects are all of you doing?

As I mentioned before, I haven't picked up the scrapbooking stuff, looked at it in the store or anything.  Is there any new 'must haves' out there that I am missing?

    Take care!

    Amy

    Re: MissLizzy's Scrappin' & Stampin' Group Nov 1 - 14th

Amy, It's a husband and wife who are coaching. The wife is the one who is listed as the coach. The director of the league was surprised the husband was on the bench also coaching because he was banned 2 yrs ago from coaching for them. The director didn't say what happened, only that he had had issues with him and he was wasn't supposed to coach for them. He never got back to me like he said he would though so they probably weren't too concerned about it after all.

One more day before the kids go back to school. Yea!! I'm ready to have a little less of a houseful and for there to be nap time again. Too hard to enforce when all the older kids are here.

dad came home yesterday. Mom took him to the VA today to get the classes started for his diabetes and whatever else they need to know. Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts. We're so thankful to have him home and starting to feel better.
