    Hi Everyone,    Coffee

I have a fresh pot of coffee all ready for you this morning!!  Coffee   Hope we all enjoy a great Monday!!! I hope all of you are in the best of health and happiness!!!  Today for me means, getting my hiny to the fitness center ASAP!!!! LOL

I guess you all talked me into getting those placemats.....LOL  If no one likes Santa, heck, I do... I figure if I like them that much, someone else will too....  I want them either for my SS or for the Christmas swap. But buying ahead sometimes for those events doesn't always pay off.. In the swaps, there were some that said they never use placemats and I know my SS likes Snowmen........hum...Guess I will have to keep the placemats.....LOL I guess I just thought they were very unique and pretty.....

Mom's party last night went well.   We all enjoyed ourselves with pizza and lots of food.  The kids played alot and enjoyed their time together.  Mom got some new clothes.  A gray sweater from Lands End and cards, from my oldest DD, a bag to hang on her walker, from my youngest DD, a beautiful planter from my son and Ron and I gave her a pillow, a shirt and a white sweater.  She was happy!!! Some of those Lands End sweaters are really nice....

Wishing you ALL a Good Restful, Peaceful, Happy Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hugs,

    Mary

Marge – My recipe says white chili, but it isn't white, it is red chili, so I'm not sure why it is called White Chili.  But it is good. I don't things really spicy either.  So that's why I like the recipe I posted.  The only really hot thing is the salsa and you can use the mild.  Your puppy likes to get into trouble.  She is probably just curious about things.

Doris – I heard on the news that some parents were keeping kids home from trick or treating because of H1N1.  I hadn't even thought of that, but it makes sense.  I haven't seen any hummingbirds around here for a while.

Mary – Happy Birthday to your mother.  It sounds like she got a lot of nice things last night.

I did a short walk this morning.  I had a cake baking in the oven and I didn't want it to burn.  If I have time later, I'll get on the Body Works machine.  I also have to start moving furniture.  I have carpet cleaners coming on Wednesday.

    Good morning, everyone.

Had a delay before going to the Sr. Center, today. Laura got out of her car to get the mail at work and the door closed and locked and her engine was running. So, I had to take her extra key over to her.

MARY, glad mom had a nice time at her party. As for the placemats, bet your SS or swap friend will love them. Always nice surprises in those pkgs.

JOYCE, nice day for walking here, too. I like having a balmy feel in the air in the fall. No spicy foods here, either. We do eat mild salsa, but not often. I do use spices but nothing "hot". Hope the cake was a good timer for your walk.

    Time for lunch, now.

Hi everyone.  It's sure a pretty day here.  The sun is out and the temp isn't bad.

We went to exercise this morning and now my knees and shoulders are crying.Wink  I missed a whole month with the sinus, cold, and then bladder infection.  I was back for a week and then we went on vacation.  Now my body is saying what do you think you're doing!!

I made taco salads for lunch.  They sure tasted good.  Then we shared a honeycrisp apple.  Can you tell that I need to get back on the straight and narrow?  I had some vegetable soup in the freezer so that's what we're having for supper.  No potatoes in the soup.  I don't like frozen potatoes.

One of our groceries had whole pork loins for $1.69 a lb. this week and turkeys for .87 a lb. if you bought $10 worth of groceries.  So I bought 2 pork loins and a turkey.  I'll cut the pork loins into boneless chops and roasts.  This will make the second turkey I've bought in the last couple of weeks.  Now if I could find some chicken breasts and beef on sale our freezer would be stocked for a while.

Speaking of turkey---found out last night that Tom, Greta, and Lucas will be here for Thanksgiving.  That makes for happy grandparents.  We're going to Holland next week to see our little guy.  He fell yesterday morning while he was still in his crib.  Greta said he really whacked his face on the crib.  He's black and blue all around his cheekbone.  Poor little guy.  He was laughing, talking, and playing while we talked to Greta and Tom on the phone.

Here's a picture of the view we saw from the porch of the cabin we rented last week.

Last Friday night we had dinner at a former  high school classmate of Kennys.  Sue and her husband live outside of Seymour, TN.  Their dining room was windows on 3 sides.  The view was fantastic.  Sue and her husband Bob are gospel singers.  They gave us a CD that they have made.  I'm not really into gospel but the CD was pretty good.  Bob is a retired Christian Church pastor.  If you like gospel you might want to look for CDs by Sue and Bob Berry.  I'd give you the name of the CD but it's in the car and Kenny has gone out to the Ford garage with it.  We got new cell phones and can't get the blue tooth thing in the car to work now.  Technology!!!!!

Guess I need to do something constructive.  Hope you're all having a great day.

    Carol

That is sure a wonderful view Carol!!!   What is that tall, silver looking thing in the distance?

Glad your Mom's party went well Mary, is she wearing the Land's End sweater already?   I've seen the sweaters in the catalog, but never bought one.

Joyce, I bet you are chomping at the bit to see some craft shows coming up.   Do your sisters also like to buy decorations too?   I used to buy that kind of thing, back when we had company over the holidays.   This year our Texas son and Fiance' are planning on coming, but we may be doing the holidays down at my brother's, so don't know if we will be home or whatever anyway.

Nancy, do you ever make tacos with ground turkey?   Mild Salsa tastes good on those, and you can add reduced fat jack cheese grated if you like it.   My hubby won't stand for any lettuce on his though, lol.

Waving at the rest of the bunch here.

    Doris
