I am curious because we usually go out for Thanksgiving. This Christmas I am cooking I am trying to make this easy on myself because I have to take all the food down to my dads ( age 83 and his wife age 82) along with my husband and son. So I am really looking for something with not a lot of left overs and is quick and simple.but still is good and gives off the Christmas feeling. Thanks
we go to my sisters....and we all bring something to share...same with thanksgiving...the hosts provide the meat....
christmas dinner is usually:
ham
scalloped potatoes
green beans of some sort
apple salad
cranberries
rolls
dessert
and of course "befores"...veggies with dip, crackers and cheeses etc...
that doesn't sound like alot of work and everyone I know likes ham, thanks
Standing rib roast (prime rib)
Mashed Potatoes
Veggie - will see what is on sale - hopefully asparagus or green beans
Au jus and horseradish sauce
In the past we've had chocolate mousse but am thinking of a different dessert
We always have turkey and all the trimmings.
We have Prime Rib New Years eve.
meatballs. it's a Christmas tradition in my family. easily saved too.
We usually have our holiday meal at Christmas Eve and my kids always think it needs to be Lasagna, tossed salad, and garlic bread. How much simpler can it get? Usually have relishes and of course some kind of dessert - maybe cookies & candy, possibly pie, or it could be cheesecake.
