    Coarse sugar

The Macaroon Kisses recipe that was in a recent issue calls for coarse sugar. I have checked my local supermarkets and craft stores to no avail. Can anyone offer a suggestion or substitute? Apparently the staff at "taste of home" is too busy to answer my request. Thanks for your help.

queenbfb,do you have any cake decorating stores, or kitchen stores ( like Sur La Table, Kitchen Collection, Williams-Sonoma, etc...)  around?  I have bought it at the kitchen stores....  If it's just for rolling the dough in....it would be okay to use finer sugar.  My grocery store carries it, but it's sold in small bags....in case you may have missed it.

queenbfb, I checked out that recipe....it's just for decoration, so you could use regular sugar....it's just to make it look pretty!
