• Good Morning!!

• This weekend, Alabama and Saints are both playing big games. So you know where I will be LOL!!

• It is getting very close to our bed time as Bob has 2 12-hour days this weekend.  I was going to start this earlier but DS called and was having Facebook problems and wanted to know if I was too.  I wasn’t but he was with his and was all upset.  Then he got all upset when I told him it was only a game!! LOL

• Today is Marooned Without a Compass Day. Which direction will you take today?

• How is your sense of direction? Do you often find yourself going around in circles? Do you feel hopelessly lost? Do you know where you are? If any of these questions describe your current state of being, then you are in tune to this special day.

• A Boy Scout leader sees this special day as no problem at all.He would just navigate the day (and night) by the position of the sun and the stars.  He would use his orienteering skills. And, he will check the trees for moss..... moss grows on the shaded, north side of a tree trunk.

• Viewed in another way, being marooned without a compass for a day could be a good thing. Our busy life styles seldom leaves time to relax. We can just kick back and enjoy being marooned. Tomorrow, we can head east when the sun rises. In the meantime, I think I see a shady tree.....  

• Happy Marooned Without a Compass Day!!!

Good morning all, its a bright start here after rain i n the night. I had a email from my sister she will not be going into hospital on monday the hospital has a lot of swine flu cases, so best she keeps away.

Brenda so sorry to hear about your friends son.

Tippy have added the 5 year old to my prayers.

Today I am going to meet with others to meet the new weight watchers aera manager, we should get refreshments, our leader said its never much so will wait and see. Depending what time I get home I might do some baking.

Zora poor Bob those 12 hour shifts are not easy.

I went to see my old work mates yesterday, and a couple of the residents who remember me, one that I was her favorite she is very poorly so sat and held her hand.

  I think I need a compass most of the time  LOL. As you may remember I can get lost at the drop of a hat In fact,  don't even have to drop the hat. Just turn me around a couple times  and I  am lost for sure. 

Now when you were  talking about oatmeal, made me hungry for the kind my Mom made,

must have been the steel cut or whatever the old fashioned kind is. It had more flavor than this new intant stuff.

Helen,that new keyboard sounds intersting. Does it light up or are the keys bigger?

most of the time in the morniggn I have a hard time seeing my keyboard good.  I don't always do very good at touch typing.  Alas I did pass typing class but so many years ago .

Nancy Z I am looking forward to some Indian summer too but I feel we may not get it..

It had the feel of snow in the air the other day but it  left thank goodness. I am not ready for that yet. 

Cilla I think  you will like  taking a while off   from being secretary of thecoinclub.  Its time you took a little me time.. 

Thanks Randi for the link to the bill of rights for patients of nursing homes.I have it saved  on my computer till I get a new printer.

My Sis and I  were very fortuante as when Mom was in nursing home and then Dad we had such good people there. couldn't have been better. 

Such tragic news from Ft Hood.   I very rarely watch the news  any  more.  I get so depressed.

I know that is the wrong attitude but with other things on my plate at the moment one thing at a time is all I can handle.

Sandy, you're so smart not to watch the news, it is so depressing.    Hope your DH is doing well.

Yesterday was cold and miserable here, my back yard was covered with leaves again, and I kept thinking all day that I was going to have to deal with them when I got home.    When I got home, the whole back yard had been raked!!!   I had told the young gal who helped me last Saturday, if she had any free time, and the yard need raking, to go ahead and do it.    She wasn't home last night, but I left a message for her to stop by today so I could pay her.    Believe me she is getting a big bonus!!!!

Tippy, I pray your Pastor's daughter is recovering.   This flu has been a rough one on the little ones.

Good Morning Sunshine.........................dadadedada...........

DH had to get up early, go get the air packs and be at class by seven. Soon as the door slammed I got up and got all my morning work done already....now! To get out the oil paints! I have the whole day...whoopie! Of course there are a million things I have to do, as always, but I have come to realize that if you don't spend some time doing the things you want to do, you just procrastinate and don't tdo the things you have to do either and nothing gets done.

Sandy, don't turn around, we don't want to loose you. Hope DH is feeling better.

Zora, thanks for opening, how is the weather down there. It is drop dead glorious here. We have had sunny 70's days and cool frosty nights. My kind of weather. 

Yesterday I went to get the mail and I kept hearing this honking that just didn't stop. It didn't sound like a car alarm and I thought maybe it was kids.  Well, when I got up to the road I discovered it was kids..a whole school bus full. The donkey(the one that was dragged) was standing right in front of the bus and would not move.  The poor bus driver couldn't get out of course and the kids were laughing and screaming and ole George just stood there, challenging the bus. I got out of the van and called him and he came right to me and the bus went on its merry way. Of course the donkey thought I had some cookies or carrots, which I did not. The donkey followed me all the way back to the house. Eventually he went home. We talked to the owner the other day, and he said he has checked his whole fence line several times and can not find where the donkey gets out. The whole neighborhood loves him and takes care of him and the kids are crazy about him and the donkey thinks he owns the neighborhood. It is so funny.

Well off to get all turpy. Everyone have a boootiful day. R.

Morning everyone!  I've been absent for a few days.  Cilla - missed your birthday; hope it was a nice one.

Beverly - I have something similar to the "Go Girl", but it's not foldable.  I ordered a three pack of the Go Girl - one for me and two to share.  Thanks for the tip.  Also thanks for the "Water Leak" video.  Funny!!

Bill and I took a trial run to Winchendon, MA so I wouldn't get lost this coming Wednesday on my way to visit my father's sister and my cousins.  I am hopeless with directions, and like to trial runs whenever possible.  Even Bill took the wrong turn once while following my cousin's directions - ended up over the border in Rindge, NH!  Eventually found the house with the red shutters, though.  It's a nice drive about an hour west of Lawrence along senic Route 2.

I worked at Esperanza by myself on Thursday.  The regular teacher went to a workshop.  I was nervous at first, but once I got going, I was on a roll.  I'm having a difficult time remembering the Spanish names of the girls - they are all "original" in that parents combine all sorts of names to make new names.  I already know the "normal" names - Elaine, Stephanie, Rachael, etc.  I have to really try harder with the others....

Went to lunch in Portsmouth, NH with our friends to an Irish Pub.  The food was very good, but different.  I had the beef stew.  The meat and the vegetables were finely chopped so the stew was like gravy soup with a dollop of mashed potato in the middle.  I was expecting large chunks of meat and vegetables so I was surprised.  It tasted delicious, though.  Portsmouth is a lovely "working seaport" with lots of restaurants and interesting shops.  It's about an hour from Lawrence.

Found out last night that there will be at least 10 for our Thanksgiving dinner.  Yea, the more the merrier.  We have it upstairs in my mom's apartment because her dining room has pocket doors into the livingroom and we set up another table in the livingroom and a buffet table in her "parlor".  It's my favorite holiday. 

Must finish with the garden today.  I have been procrastinating, and last night we had a frost.  It's time.  With daylignt savings time gone, it's depressing (at least till I get used to it) that it gets dark so early.

Thought you would all like to hear some good news.....
The little one you had in your prayers is "driving the nurses crazy with the call light".  How is that for great? 'grin'

She went to the hospital in such serious shape that they rushed her to a bigger hospital  and has made such a tremendous turn-around. Thank you for remembering her.

We are off to celebrate my DGS's birthday at my DD's house. The cake is done so my part is over, except to show up and shower the kiddos with love.

ZORA~~I want to know if that's anything like "Up a creek without a paddle". LOL

I get lost so easily. DH always says I can't find my way out of a paper bag.

I've been known to argue with the GPS and my vehicles' factory-installed compass.

Time to get that cake to the party.

Good afternoon from a warm & sunny Indiana, think it's about 68 out there.........grrrr.........you know I like the cooler weather better.  DH out shelling corn.........he loves this kind of weather.

Count me in as one who gets lost easily........I even get turned around at the mall.......can't remember which way to go out of the store........LOL!  I always find my way back home though!  Just refuse to drive in the big cities anymore!

Sandy........glad to hear John is feeling better.

Been in the kitchen this morning, baked the peanut butter blossoms & have them in the freezer, made a double batch of snickerdoodles, will bake them tomorrow.

DH won't be home in time to go out for dinner this evening, I'm just going into town later to get a Pizza King pizza, it will be here when he gets home........my ND boys play Navy this afternoon, gotta be there for them.
