    Good Morning Everyone!!    Coffee

The coffee is all ready for us to enjoy!! Grab a mug and join me in enjoying a good cup of brew.  Hope you all have a good Saturday and weekend!!!

Doris, the Shark sweeper is battery powered and needs to be recharged... It is the handiest little sweeper I ever had, so light weight and picks up the dirt great... You empty a little pan with the dirt.. I always amazed at how much dirt the sweeper picks up in the house...The Dtour diet and cookbook really sound  interesting.  I still use a regular cookbook and just sub or leave out certain things..Then with Ron on Coumadin, I can not make everything I would like to.

I guess today is Walmart hair do day....

Wishing you ALL a GREAT Saturday and Weekend.

    Hugs,

    Good morning.

Mary great coffee ...I needed some.

I'm up early...4am to be exact.  So much to do.  Today's the big day for DGS.. Yesterday had a busy, busy day.  Up early. Clean house, Rudy vacuumed for me while I did little things that take a lot of time.

Picked up DD#3 at Airport along with DGD...so happy to see them. My little grand came bounding out to the waiting room and jumped in my arms all the while yelling.  Gram, Gram.  People were just watching us.  What a heart filled event..

Then went to DD#1 for lunch and then we all went to the nail parlor to get our nails done.  What a treat.  DGD made us get a little flower on the nails.  I now feel like I'm in my teens.  Then off shopping.  We always need somethings. Picked up DGS and came home.  Rudy thought I was never coming back...

Got some supper for the kids and then for the grown ups.

I did all this without my afternoon nap.  Played and talked for a while and then I was out before 8 ....woke a few times during the night.

So I'm enjoying coffee, before we all head out for breakfast.

I' enjoying this, but need more down time between events and activities. As I said  I'm not in my teens...

Well hopefully I will survive the next few days.

Have a great weekend all. I promise to read all the post when I can.

    LoveLorraine.

    Good Morning Group!

MARY: Thank you for the coffee. I think I'm ready for my 3rd Coffee this morning. Sure tastes good though!

LORRAINE: Congratulations to bride & groom! I love weddings more than most events. For a while I arranged receptions on the side & did the decorating for them as well. It was great fun. Wedding plans are starting to emerge for my son & his fiancee but they are slow as she has no idea what to do & has champaign taste in everything on a soda budget! Enjoy yourself & rest as much as possible.

TO EVERYONE ELSE: HI, hope you are well! Big Smile

My day ahead it busy. My husband & son left our early this morning for Southern Ohio. They will be back by late afternoon so we can go out to dinner tonight. The 5th was my husband's 53rd birthday. We grabbed a pizza out that night but are going to a nice place tonight. So, I've got to get to town for groceries & meds then get back to bake his cake & clean. I want to get an early start on the groceries in hopes of beating some of the "sick" people out. We've had one death in our county from the swine flu & more cases than can be reported. My doctor wants me to get the vaccine so I'll be going to the next clinic on Tuesday. I will only take the shot. You also can't take the nasal spray when you have asthma!

Hope everyone has a happy, health day!

    God Bless,

Mary – I'm so glad Matt and Mattie weren't on base on Thursday.  How did the Medicare seminar go yesterday?  I'm guessing it was pretty confusing.  I find insurance so confusing.  I'm kind of like your mom when it comes to decorations and pretty things.  I don't "need" them, but I sure do like them.

Marge – I think the repair shop should give you a BIG discount since you have had to use so much gas and time trying to get it fixed right.  I sure hope the guy fixes it right next time.  What a great deal on the turkey.

Doris – I'm glad you got the new computer.  What a great price!  The next support group is Nov. 17.  I'm not sure if I'm going.  I have to use vacation time to go and I will be off the entire next week.  So I'm still debating.  There are usually around 50 people that go, give or take.  And you are right, it is mostly women that are at the meetings.  It is good to see how many husbands do come with their wives, in support.  There is one couple that is to have the surgery this month.  They are both having it done on the same day.  There is also a mother and son pair that are trying to get approved.  Every month there are some new people.  You have to go to at least one meeting to be approved.  Some people are just thinking about it, so they come to get information and there is one man that had the surgery 2 or 3 years ago.

Lorraine – Sounds like a very busy day, but a day full of love.  Enjoy the wedding today.

Susan – I hope you get everything done today so you can have a nice birthday celebration out tonight.  Belated birthday blessings to your DH.

I wasn't productive at all yesterday.  I went to Kmart and bought some things.  Then went home and laid on my couch to watch some TV.  I woke up 2 hours later!  By then, it was time to make lunch and then get ready for work.  At least I did get my walk done before I went to Kmart.  So I have to get busy today.  I have lots to do.
I hope everybody has a great weekend.

Good Morning, Everyone, from a COLD GA.  I was up at 7:30 - you'd think on my first Saturday of not having to work in a while that I would have slept in.  LOL  We have planned today to blow a zillion leaves but still have a gazillion on the trees.  I also need to thin out my iris.  Tom cut them back but with all the warm weather we had they grew again.  Its in the low 40's now

So when I thin them - do I need to cut all the green leaves back?  Or just leave a little and put them completely under ground?

I'm suppose to go to a BBQ/Craft Sale today, too.  Where a friend of ours goes to church has this the 1st Sat of every Nov.  They usually have good Brunswick Stew.  Plan on buying a quart or two today if its good.  I'll eat lunch there with her.  Can't do the pork anymore - last time I ate pork like that I gained 1-1/2 lbs and that was with no bread.  hmmmmmm   These last 6 lbs seem to be the hardest to get rid of.  Was hoping to be at goal by Thanksgiving.

Training was quite tiring this week.  Stressed, too.  I am not looking forward to selling over the phone.  We were told that we would be doing service calls which is true but we also have to try to sell/upgrade a customer's service twice during the phone conversation even if the customer is calling in with a complaint.  Will be handling phone, internet, directv, & wireless customers/orders.  Everything should be a snap except for the wireless.  But I think most customers go to the internet or in the stores for wireless service.  This is going to be a nerve wreaking job. Good thing is I'll have better hours and not so many Saturdays.  I don't have to work any Saturdays during November - not sure about Dec yet.

Congratulations to the newly weds.  Oh, and how sweet how your DGD greeted you at the airport.

Prayers going out to all those who have lost loved ones and those who are sick.

Well, guess I ought to get busy around here.  Y'all have great day - stay warm.

Hugs & Prayers for All, Roberta

Roberta – My neighbor asked me today if I want some of her iris because she needs to thin them out.  I turned down her kind offer.  I would be terrible at the selling.  I'm never good at that.  Good luck.

Nancy – I hope the church meeting went well today.

I have gotten a lot done today in preparation for the family dinner tomorrow.  I got the cleaning done, except for mopping the floors.  I have almost all the groceries bought.  I did forget a few things, but I will go tomorrow morning.  I even worked on the leaves and mowed the grass.  I can't really cook anything today.  I will make an apple bread and the birthday cake in the morning tomorrow.  The soup and manicotti will get done later tomorrow.
The grocery store had turkey breasts on sale for 88 cents a pound as long as you spent $35 additional dollars.  So I got one and have that in the freezer.  They also had spiral hams for $1.69 a pound, so I bought one and put that in the freezer.  I think I'm set for meals for a while.  I'll probably make the ham next weekend.  My niece's birthday is the 17th, so maybe I'll make it for them.

About the Iris, to thin them, ideally, you have to dig them out, cut that thick white stuff away, and leave just about 2 or 3 inches of green leaves, then replant, and put some bone meal into the ground before you replant them.   That white stuff has to be cut, you can make yourself alot of separate little plants that way.   Or you give them away, or toss them into your compost pile.   That is why some people don't like Iris, alot of work to do every 5 years or so........but then you do get alot more blooms for several years too.

Be back later, have to go finish my bike time.   All this wedding news, our Texas son is planning theirs for next May also.   They are shocked at the high prices though.

    Good Morning Group!

MARY: Coffee is just what I need this morning. Thank you for making it. We stayed up until 1 a.m. this morning playing cards with our son & his fiance. I'm not used to keeping those hours so I'm dragging a bit this morning! I could have used more Sleep but am meeting mom for church so got up with enough time to fill myself full of liquid energy.

REST OF DC: HI, hope you are doing well this morning! Big Smile

Guess I hadn't shared that I made a decision, for now, on a church. Had a nice long talk with my husband's friend who is the pastor of a non-denominational church. He was actually the founder of this same church. His knowledge & joy were inspiring. He gave me the name of someone that attends his church that works in the same building I do so that I could get another perspective on it. Well..........let's just say that they are a little too demonstrative for me! I don't disagree with them I'm just a little more reserved in how I worship. My mom is like I am in that so we decided to go to a church that I went to for a while several years ago (it also is right across the street from her apartment building): Christ Episcopal (sp?)! It's basically Catholic but without the name. I prefer the ceremony & dignity of the services. A former co-worker attends there & is very involved so that also helped in getting answers that mom had (if it's ok to wear jeans-she can't wear dress shoes due to her disability nor afford dress clothes). The bottom line coms down to the fact that it's not where nor how as long as you do worship God!

Also, did try the pie recipe that I referred to last weekend. Talk about good. It's not sugar-free but I made is as low fat as I could. It's also extremely easy.

     PUMPKIN CREAM PIE

1 pkg. Jello pumpkin spice pudding mix

Skim Milk, as directed on pudding box

1 med. carton fat free Cool Whip

1 low fat graham cracker crust

Mix pudding & milk as directed on box until thickened. Fold in half the carton of Cool Whip into the pudding until completely blended. Pour into the crust. Chill 4 hours or overnight. Serve with addtional Cool Whip!

Got to jump into the shower! Have a wonderful Sunday!

    God Bless,

    Susan Geeked

Doris – When I was younger, I always thought if I ever got married, I would just do a simple ceremony at the Justice of the Peace.  That is so much money to spend on one day.  But I can definitely understand people wanting to have a big ceremony to remember their special day.  Since I was never fortunate enough to find somebody to marry me, I didn't have to worry about it.

Susan – I'm glad you and your mother have found a church.  It can be a very hard decision.  Thank you for the pie recipe.  It looks really good.  As I've said, I love pumpkin flavor.

We had a beautiful day yesterday and are to have another beautiful one today.  We hit 70 degrees yesterday.
