     Goooooooood Morning, Grannnies!!

A sunny daya with the temps heading for the 60s. Most of the laundry is already on the line. Hopefully it will be dry before the bugs start flying.

Apple and CP,  Enjoy the craft sales.

    MJ, That castle sounds beautiful.

Cleo, That is the only thing I don't like about living out in the sticks. It is so far to get to beigger stores. Glad I'm not much of a shopper.

Stylist, That must be really scarey for the bride to be so far from family and firends on this important day. I hope she soon feels comfortable here.

Grammy, Enjoy your trip to the mall with DD.

Liny, I hope your tummy feels better and you can go out to eat.

Suzi, There nearest WM still has a lot of fabric. But it the only fabric store within 50 miles.

Lily, The wind is already blowing here. The faster to make the clothes dry.Big Smile

Alby, What will Gary do after the leaves are gone? Huh?

Nancy, I hope you get some visiting in at the Rally.

Chayh,Glad the kitties are getting along well. I will have to call DGSs and see how the kitty situation is going. They found a little kitten last week. They hadn't tried introducing them to their older kitty.

Stylist, Don't sent the dust bunnies in this direction.

I am a little ahead as I got lots of cleaning done yesterday. There is always a quilt to work on, I suppose. But first the wood box has to be filled. This afternoon I will make apple pies for the chruch dinner tomorrow. May as well make one for myself while I am at it.

Last load of laundry is done so I will hang that out.

God Morning Ladies  - - I woke up with a stuffy head - Hope it's just from sleeping and go's away soon. I need to go to the store first off this morning, as I need eggs and I want to bake and get somethings done that I need for next week.  We brings treats for the decorators while they are putting up their trees, so I was going to do either pumpkin bread or poppy seed bread, but both need eggs.  Need to bring a doz. muffins to church tomorrow, for the instatation of officers of WELCA.  Then there's treats for work on Mon,and Tue. and desserts for next Sat. night, if I could figure out something "pretty" that I could freeze and have done.

Love the donut buffet today - Hard choices, but I think pumpkin wins in the fall. Of course, I'm a real pumpkin fan.

I could have went to a craft fair last weekend, DIL mentioned, but I declined.  It's a biggie and I didn't think my feet would hold up very well.

Well, breakfast is done, so I'd better run while I'm still filled with ambithon - sometimes, it's hard to come by, so I'll come back later when it's gone.

    Have a great day.

DD called this morning to tell me that 10 yr. old GC killed two dear yesterday.  He saw three at one time and managed to get two with two bullets.  He is such a focused young man.  Makes straight A's in school, good at sports.  SIL spends lots of time with him.  When DD married DSIL he was so quiet and reserved I wasn't sure what he would amount to (don't tell her that!) , but he is very serious about his responsibilities, hardworking and has turned into a wonderful husband and  father.   Very family oriented.  Just hard not to brag a little.    We hear so much about those who are not responsible, I just have to feel thankful.

Sounds like lots of busy grannies today, and maybo a few who should just be resting today to get the energy back.  Rest heals, I believe.

I'm trying to finish the last little dress today.

I've been to the store - We had some good specials this week, plus my baking things resulted in a fuller cart than normal for me.  It's all put away now, and the muffins are done and cooling, and I have 3 loaves of pumpkin bread in the oven, it should be done before too long.  I'm thinking of making that coconut cake where you take 2 layers and split them into 4 and make a filling of coconut, sour cream, sugar, and cool whip and fill the layers - actually, 1 cup of the filling go's into the frosting of cool whip - - Debby, didn't you make that not too long ago? I haven't ever had it, but I've heard good things, and you seal it up and let sit in the frig for 3 days, so I could do it ahead of time for next Sat. night.    I will probably make another dessert, since I am hosting a table, I need to bring one , and since it's the event I plan, I want to make sure there is pleanty and a good variety.  Have some bigger tables this time, and I don't know if they will bring one or two desserts.  I have one table of 18, and if they only bring a pan or 2 pies, it's not going to cover their grop.

fNext on my adjenda, is to clean some celery and radishs - Go to the WC, drop off my muffins at church, since I will go by on my way and then I don't have to bother with them in the morning.  I forgot cream cheese at the store, so may stop at the other one for that - (I want to have as much of my running done befrore the week starts as possible.

Well, guess I've been resting long enough - and my chincken salad sandwich, piece of string cheese, and banana is gone so better hop to it again.

Back again while I am in the room. Need a SSD.  I have been on the phone with a nearby furniture company.. Had to make sure I could get into the building in my wheel chair. We are going to buy me a new recliner. Actually I have never had one so this is a first for me. I sleep in DH's and he has to set in my comfy chair. It is too little for him. Want to get it before DD gets here then DH will sleep in his recliner and I in mine. Then will give DD and her DH our kingsize bed.
It is surely nice and sunny today. House seems so nice and cozy. It is 68* right now. Tomorrow suppose to be the same.
Need to go and get to my work. Not that I have done much today. Seems the faster I go the behinder I get.    BBL  Suzi

Congrats to your GS Cleo. That is early for hunting, I don't think they are allowed until 12 up here. He sure did good to get two at the same time with only one shell for each.  Only our oldest son ever hunted, but he isn't able anymore. DH and the others never had much interest. DS2 used to go with the neighbor boy 'coon hunting, but they quit by age 16 or so. He is too soft hearted to ever kill a deer.

Jane, I never heard of that cake, but sounds too fussy for me. I'm sure it is very tasty.

Suzi, I've never enjoyed sitting in a recliner. I prefer to sit much straighter. DH has an old one I would love to throw out!  But he loves it and won't even look at new ones. I hope you find one just perfect for you.

I went out and mowed all the leaves around the house yard into huge windrows, but couldn't pick them up as it was too windy. Now the wind has let up, but the L-bugs have come out and can't be out there. We'll get out there early tomorrow morning and get them taken care of. Not going to church, having a special service with some Gospel singers. Not our thing, so we will stay home. Maybe watch the Lutheran service on TV.

I  had a late night last night, as the neighbor north of our place started combining about dark and ran until after midnight. The tractor and combine lights kept shining in my bedroom window, along with such a bright moonlight. I can't sleep good at night if it isn't dark. Plus I could hear the machinery running and I also can't sleep with noise anywhere. So it was after midnight before I got to sleep. Now I think I'll go look at 4 pieces of fabric to make another quilt top, altho' I am just a bit short of a couple of pieces. Trying to figure how to cut them to all fit and look good.

    Be back later..................

HI GRANNIES   Another beautiful sunny fall day.  I slept in real late again this morning.  Nancy called as usual this morning to chat & we keep up on things.  Just finished my bedroom.  Now will wet swiff some floors.  I'd like to finish up living & dining rooms before supper if I have enough time.  A quick supper of bacon, eggs & french toast as DH bowls tonight.

APPLE  DH got me two bottles of pumpkin spice creamer this morning.  I've been looking for it at the store for quite some time.

MJ  I get Bronners catalogs every year.  Oh how I would love to see there store.  I know it is huge.  Alot bigger than the Christmas shop in Tennessee.

LINY  Do hope your tummy feels better.

GREENBACK  Alot of baking for you right now.

GRAMMY  Enjoy your company.  Your going to be one busy & happy grannie.

Wow! What a hunter this young guy is going to be - - Tell himhow proud the Grannies are of him - - And yes, we'd love to hear about the others, now or later, never matters, we just love them all.

Darn, I burned the bottoms of the pumpkin bread - - I have 2 loaves of poppy seed bread in there now, and moved the rack up a notch.

My friend called and wanted to go out for burgers at a favorite dive of mine - Haven't been there since my BD.  The owner now, is the male nurse who met us at the hospital here when we brought DH back on Hospice.  He's a great guy, and always nice to see him.. We use to go to this place fairly often when DH was alive - It was a good place to meet his DS & BIL, but just don't seem to get there very often.  They are famous for their really big burger - over a lb. of meat in it.  I never have that, needless to say, but there regular one is just great and a generous size also.  It will be nice after cooking today.  Now, I'm not sure If I'll have time for the WC today or not.

    Good afternoon grannies,

It is another beautiful fall day here, temps in the 60's and not a cloud in the sky.  DD and I went to the craft fair this morning and I found a few things, mostly for gifts, a lot of the painted things I can do myself and I have too many decorations anyway but always see something I cant resist.  Then it was off to Kohls where I did get some bargins on some clothes for Jameson and Christmas outfit for Dsis.  Then to the grocery store.

Now I have changed the beds, 1 load of laundry  in and 1 to go cleaned up in the family room and now headed to do the bathroom.  DH went to visit DMIL this afternoon and then will mow lawn either this afternoon or tomorrow.  Brats and italians on the grill will be dinner along with some baked beans and salad.  Since DS is still here, tomorrow we are having a family picture taken have not had one for about seven years and now can add DSIL and Jameson to the picture.

Better get back to work so I can actually say I accomplished something today.

Just wandering through again. Wanted to come in here where the sun was shining in the window so brightly. It has reached 72* and the lawnmowers and rakes are busy in the neighborhood. Been hearing the mowers all afternoon. I love this kind of day.
I have been working on menues and grocery list for the week we are to have company and Thanksgiving dinner.
Cleo---What a fine hunter DGS is. Two at the same time with just two bullets. What  he will have to tell his friends. Need to get pics with his kill.
Back to work I go.    BBL   Suzi.   Sure are some good smells coming out of the neighborhood today.  Greenback---Think you could find time sometime to post the cake recipe?

DH was telling me he saved his mowing money when he was about 12 and bought his own gun from a neighbor for $10.00.  The first time he went to the woods with it he shot at a squirrel 13 times before he got.  Bless his heart, he got to be good with practice.

Greenback, you are starving me to death with all that baking you're doing.  It's my weakness.

Lily - we hardly ever see ladybugs here, but we don't have any crops nearby.  Have lots of other bugs, though.

IC - wish I could say I've cleaned here, but I've had too many projects going on.

Suzi - I need a new recliner, too.  That's on my looooong list.  Hope you find a real comfy one.

I had a nice afternoon with #1 Shopping and lunch on a beautiful day. I needed some new sweaters so we went to Kohls where I got two sweaters and one top. All on 1/2 pr then a 15% discount ticket Big Smile Made it a good shopping day. Oh, dd also got a Christmas dress for her DGDBig Smile same deal. DD had to leave about 3 I stayed and checked out a few other stores and found another top to go with the cardigan sweater.  Found some brown pants I wanted but they only had short in that color and that's too short for me.  Saw another sweater that I liked but want to think about it??? I could just make a Christmas wish for it. Home and there's a load of clothes to fold and one in the dryer now. No supper here tonight it was a late lunch. I'll fold the clothes then take a shower.

Greenback that cake doesn't sound fussy to me pretty simple to do that filling.  I'll file that away for company. That's my favorite kind good and easy,

Cleo congratulation to the sharp shooter! Go ahead and brag that's wha grannies should do. That's quite an accomplishment for any age and he's only 10Surprise

Suzi did you find the recliner you wanted? Ah, yes it's a nice place to get comfy. I know several people that sleep in recliners. Sounds like we had the same weather today. Warm and sunny!

Numbers for my company have changed againSurprise Niece and dh in Fl can't come. She has a heart prob and med is still being adjusted. Dr said no way can this be done unless she is there to be monitered and won't see the dr again till Wed!

I need to take care of the laundry now.

Is anyone here yet? It's been pretty quiet the past few nights.

My back is achy, as I put another top together this afternoon. I lay the pieces out on the bed to figure out the best way to use them. Leaning over the bed like that puts a strain on my back. I need a higher bed! Anyway, I cut two long strips and put four large pieces down the middle. Red, navy blue and a print.  Doesn't look to bad. All new pieces I got at the thrift store, so only cost me $1.25. Can't beat that!

Lily - You surely stay busy with the quilts, and thrifty at that!  I've been sewing today inbetween washing and drying clothes.  I was so tired that the kitchen seemed insurmountable, but I got it done.  Good supper - baked chicken, butterbeans and cornbread.  Made DH happy.
