My Kitchen-Aid mixer is top of the list. A distant second is my micro wave, but only to defrost when I forget to take out some meat for dinner! And my waffle iron. My wife loves my waffles. For you skinny people, try spreading some vanilla ice cream on your waffles. I wish I could still do that.

Re: What small appliance couldn't you live without?

Well, truly, if I had to give up all small appliances, I could do just fine--I do a lot of things by hand, anyway. I hardly use my food processor (I do all my chopping with a knife, and use a hand grater for any grating I need done), I detest electric can openers. Don't even have a blender. Can make toast in the broiler, in a pinch. Have a two gas grills out back, so could do without the Forman Grill. Waffles are pretty hard to make without a waffle iron, but we'd just eat pancakes (or I'd cheat and buy frozen waffles).

But the one I'd miss the most would be my KitchenAid mixer.

.Oh, I forgot, I bought my first electric "Golden Grain" grain mill in the early70s. It finally bit the dust about 2 yrs ago and I now have K-Teck I am not too happy with, it does not grind coarse enough, only several grades of fine.

In case the power is off I do have a hand operated grain mill and an old fashioned meat grinder and a bunch of other handy old fashioned gadgets.

I coud live without any electruic aopliances if I HAD TO (grew uup that way and bought my first electr appliances (the hand mixer) in 1964 (I was then 37) but if I could keep 2 of them I would pick the hand moxer and the blender.

Re: What small appliance couldn't you live without?

Mine would have to be my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and my bread machine. I love my mixer for so many things and nothing beats homemade bread.

Re: What small appliance couldn't you live without?

Hands down my VitaMix and my Keurig coffee maker.
