suan, i am glad it was a false alarm.

I guess they have checked all the little roads leading off East Lynn? Like the Community Cemetery? Or up at the lake, where there area roads leading off ? I wish I could get out and search too.

Could they go on some talk show like Oprah or a news show????

Evidently it was a false alarm. The family did get a phone call last night saying that they had been found, but it was not them. They are supposed to be going out to check again this morning. They went out and searched for them last night, but did not find anything. The person or persons that said they had found someone did not want to talk to police. So, the search goes on. It has been two weeks today, and understandably, the family is more than concerned.

They found them a little while ago, but they did not find them alive. I don't have any details right now because it is so recent, but evidently, they did not make it out of East Lynn, WV. The family is going to need a lot of prayer at this time. I know that their grandson and his wife are taking this very hard. His wife is the one who made all the posters and tried to get them printed and put up everywhere and tried to get the word out through the media as much as she could.

I know that the family would want to thank everyone who has been praying and even trying to look for their grandparents.

As of this date there is not any news. The family thought that the FBI was going to be getting involved, but they are only going to be there as a secondary source of help so to speak.

I just spoke to their grandaughter and she told me that there was a woman who said that she saw a man that looks a lot like her grandfather at a Goodwill Store in New Philadelphia OH. This could possibly make sense since they could have possibly been heading to Cleveland. He was by himself, but hopefully it was him. The family would like for me to thank those of you who have been praying and ask you to continue to do so. Hopefully they will be found soon.

Hopefully they will be located soon and that they are ok. We had something similar happen a few years ago in a nearby town. In this case it involved 3 adults, 2 of them were elderly ( I think they were all related, but don't remember how). They made regular trips to a nearby city to shop and on their return trip got turned around somehow and ended up in another state. They knew they were going the wrong way, but could not figure out where they needed to go. They had even stopped for gas and did not ask for directions or help. I think that eventually they did stop and asked someone to help them. The sherriff actually went and picked them up himself and transported them safely home.

So am I understanding this story correctly? The couple were traveling with their caregiver to some destination, when they may have had an argument and the couple left the caregiver at a rest stop and left in the car and are now presumed to be traveling somewhere?

Praying they are found and no one is injured.

I got an e-mail from the family a little while ago and the FBI is now getting involved which means it will now get national coverage. Hopefully if they have gotten very far, the family will stand a better chance of finding them now. They have been up night and day making flyers, putting postings on any web site that they could, and following up any leads that they may have gotten. We are all still hoping and praying that they will be found soon. Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.

My DMIL has Alzheimers. She started showing signs last summer. I took her to the doctor the day he told her his diagnosis. I took her home and she asked me to wait a minute before I left. She went inside and came right back out with her car keys(DFIL had decided not to renew his license when they expired as his eyes were failing him) and handed them to me. She said she knew it was only going to get worse and she didnt want to hurt anyone,or hurt herself,and she didnt want to get in her car one day and forget who she was and where she was going. Even though I protested,I was so relieved. She's doing really well,on meds,and they both live in an assisted living facility. I just got off the phone with her and I read the article you provided,Catmint. After saying she would say a prayer for them she remarked how glad she was she made the choice to give me those keys. And,that if she did still have her car she'd probably get lost going to the store for milk. She still has a great sense of humor. Its really too bad these people didnt have someone to watch over them a little more closely.

I agree, Sandy. I've BTDT and it is hard, but I think it would be alot harder knowing I did nothing if my parent ran over a little kid playing in their front yard or wiped out a whole family because of driving on the wrong side of the interstate or something.

My parents were both getting way beyond the point where they drove safely. Mom would get lost in town while driving. My siblings took the car away and left it at my sisters. Parents called the police and said the car was stolen by my sister. It got quite ugly for awhile. The police came and understood the situation and did not make an arrest. My parents were like wildcats trying to get the situation under contol. Dad died last April and Mom is alone in her house just living her life out. It is hard to take control of control freaks which they always were. It MUST be done however.

Do not hesitate to do what is best. You will be saving more heartache in the future.

It was just on. I understand now. They had an argument, and Mrs. Frye left the Aunt of her DD there.

They said they could have headed to their old home in Cleveland. They spent 4 hours this morning in the helicopter looking for the car, but, didnt' see it.

I sure hope they are ok.
