Wonder how the CA taxpayers feel about paying for the police and added security? The state is in such a financial crisis. Joe Jackson should be paying for it. Oh, wait a minute, Michael excluded him from the will. Wonder why? Joe is a jerk...all he sees is $$$$. Hopefully he gets NONE. He was such a terrible father to that family...so abusive. No wonder Michael was so screwed up.

Sorry to have this analytical mind but, the State of California is paying their bills and payrolls with IOU's so where's the money coming from for all the added security?? Maybe each police officer will get an IOU to remember.

Tickets to a funeral??? That's the most crazy thing I've ever heard of. I guess it's like his last big show, huh? So sad. I liked his music, but wouldn't go to his funeral if you paid me. I never bought any of his music or anything, but liked hearing it on the radio. I think he was a messed up person, not unlike most hollyweird stars. I've heard some about his messed up childhood and how he longed for love and affection from his father, who gave him nothing.

It is not known if the body will be there, and details of the actual memorial have/will not be revealed.

As I said, it would be easier to organize WWIII than this.

Well, lets hope the money from MJ's records are kept back for his kids. Those grandparents aren't going to live forever. Debbie Rowe wants them, said she would take Blanket too.

Is MJs body going to be there? Or , just a picture. I wouldn't go, and I don't want to see any more of all of it on TV. Tired of it.

I wonder if Michael actually would want people to come and look at his body. He hated his body anyway, and , probably would hate to see people gawk at him dead.

Larry King was there last night and think again today. Last night there were people in the kitchen Chefs cooking not sure for who and they took a tour. Went into his bedroom so all the locks on the door and then went into his closet and opened the short door to the hidden room. It's a rustic looking ranch very nice. I'll watch again tonight. His brother showed Larry the tree where MIchael climbed and wrote we are the world. He had Larry be quiet and the peaceful sound of birds. well it was sort of sad to say the least. His brother said he would like Michael buried over by the train. Then he says this is hard to be speaking about where your brother would lay.

I saw Matt Lauer's tour of it on the Today Show yesterday, and was surprised at how nice the house was inside. I expected something really, really gaudy.

They aren't selling the tickets to it, people can register at staplescentet.com for a chance to go. Then they will draw 8000 names for two tickets and two wrist bands. The winners will be either in Staples Center where the funeral will be, or the Nokia theatre across the street,where it will be shown on 3 huge screens.

Then it will be telecast all over the world free.

You know some of the winners of tickets will be down there trying to sell them for an outrageous price. And some fools will pay it,

I think this is just ridiculous. They don't know yet where he will be buried. It said the family wants him to be buried at Neverland. The present owner who took it over last year is restoring the grounds to a more peaceful place. All of the rides and the zoo that was there are all gone. This whole thing is disgusting. To turn a funeral into a money making circus! This is not a showing of grieve or respect it is commercialism run amok.

None of this is any different from what happened when Elvis died. Same media circus, same crowd issues, same profits to be made, same everything. It just seems worse because the 'media' isn't just three big networks anymore, and we have the blessing/curse of the internet to magnify everything.

His mother, brothers and sisters are grieving but his father is obviously already cgleefully ounting the $$$ profits crazy people are willing to spend for records and memorabelia.

I can already see street vendors hawking those horrid black velvet wall hangings with gaudy pictures of him whie the funeral parade goes by, just like they did when Elvis died, only this is much worse. The Chinese got busy churning stuff out the minbute they heard he turned up his toes.

Would I buy a ticket?? You ARE joking, aren't you?

I'm with Mags. I'm sorry for his family's loss but I would not attend this funeral if you paid ME. Funerals should be private affairs, except maybe for heads of state/presidents, etc., and even a portion of that should be private. To sell tickets to a funeral is downright tacky.
