We went to relatives home for a barbeque, had hot dogs and chicken on the grill and all the picnic food, tuna salad, spaghetti salad, macaroni salad, chips and dips, baked beans, jello, watermelon, and a birthday cake and ice cream for our niece's birthday. It was sunny and in the 70's. They live near the lake so the wind off the water made it kind of chilly when you were out in the open. Hope everyone has a safe holiday!

All your dinners sound so yummy. Im rethinking the meatloaf. It's been raining,but it looks like it might clear up. If it does,we'll have the burgers and hot dogs,and I'll throw some sides together.

Hotter than H3ll out here.. temps will be around the 100 mark today...but NO humidity...we have 17% this morning....problem is we are also under a RED flag warning extreme fire dangerand fireworks are NOT a good mix... will be a scarey day here...

I have done all my cooking at midnite the last 2 nights...(when it was coolong off so the heat stayed out of the house)

It's cloudy up this way too, Tara. No rain yet though. We're headed up north a bit to some relatives for a cookout of slow cooked, BBQ chicken, Sunny Vegetable Salad, Black Bean Salsa w/Chips, Ranch Beans, a variety of chips and veggies and I don't know what else. Oh, and cake, as it is my MIL's birthday today. We're hoping the rain holds off for our fireworks.

It's cloudy and dreary, and we've had rain earlier.

I'm keeping it simple. There's only 5 of us here. We're grilling brats and hot dogs. I have the fixin's for chili cheese dogs, which are DD's DBF's favorite food. Just having chips on the side, and banana spice bars for dessert.

Summer arrived with a vengence this week and it will be 95° today with a possibility of natures fireworks tonight. So, we are doing the outdoor cooking with hot dogs and chicken burgers. Along with boston baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw and turtle brownies with homemade ice cream for dessert.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!! MAY OUR FLAG FOREVER REMAIN AND REMIND US OF WHAT WE LOST TO GAIN OUR FREEDOM!

we had rain and thunder and lightening yesterday....nice and sunny today....but of course hot...

we will be dining on:

BBQed beef sliders

cole slaw

pasta salad

baked beans

fruit and veggies

fresh salsa and baked Tostitos chips

homemade ice cream: peach, blackberry, cherry vanilla and mini M and M

Texas brownies

various beverages....

Kinda cloudy & rainy here today, too. So far, I've only made some homemade chocolate syrup for ice cream. We/re supposed to go to a parade later in town & the beer garden tonight (DH's idea), so don't know if I'm cooking today or not! Also, no kids again today! I should be using the time to do projects I can't do with them around, but haven't gotten that far yet. Sounds like DH is watching a movie. Wish he'd install my light over the kitchen sink instead!

Well,it looks like rain. Its been cloudy and cool all morning. The weatherman said to expect heavy rain this evening,so there go the fireworks.

I had planned on burgers and hot dogs for dinner this evening,but Im not about to stand over a grill in the pouring rain. Maybe I'll save that for tomorrows dinner and fix meatloaf and mashed potatoes tonight.

How's your weather today? Are you cooking? Im looking for inspiration.
