Good Morning Friends

We ended up getting an inch of rain yesterday, we hadn't had rain for a few weeks.

I like the deluxe pizza, everything on it, no anchovies...yuck

Ladies how lucky you are getting together today and also the DHs. Hope you enjoy each moment and share the wonderful stories you have. Wish we could all join you wouldn't that be wonderful!!

Pat, why do you go to these workshops? Couldn't you give it up and just tend to the farming business? I don't understand...if I were you I would try to enjoy life a little more....life is so short. I know I should mind my own business, but I was only thinking of your welfare.

Char, I hadn't heard about the women losing their babies. How dreadful very scary stuff, I don't think we need it. Myself am always cleaning using chemicals it would kill anything on my hands. André hasn't been out in the public, only a couple of times.

Grammapeach, we couldn't find your place yesterday otherwise we were going to show up and surprise you with many balloons.

Aleida, how is your family Dr? Do you like him? It is so hard to find one, we ended up going to Windor to a clinic and always see the same Dr. It's not like it use to be....in fact nothing is.

Was watching the news and the Egyptian mummies were put through a cat scan, and it also revealed that they had heart disease. They were not in such stress as we are today, no smoking, pollution eating fruit. This is what I don't understand.

Good Morning Friends,

We had rain overnight and this morning, it has been awhile since we had any. Beautiful again by the weekend. I hand my clothes out as long as I am able to weather permitting.

Pat, what are video classes, you never stop to amaze me, the things you do and all the work you do while it's still daylight.

Dolores, you must buy flour by the very big bags, all the baking you wow...like I said yesterday open up your own little shop of homemade baked goods. They will be flying off the shelves as fast as you can bake.

Aleida, what are you doing today? It will be too wet to rake leaves, so best to stay indoors. Has Luke been behaving after the bone episode? What type of work does Tiffiny do?

Char, tell the little guy to put the food into his mouth not all over the floor. It's hard to know what he is allowed to do at home.

Is Dan feeling better after being in the closed garage with a motor running? I sure wish I could come to see the beauty of BC for myself.

I have a question...What is a good moisterizing for the face, my skin gets very dry especially in the winter. Even my fingers crack and bleed from all the dryness. Right now I'm using Oil of Olay, but there should be something better.

Working at 2 homes today, won't be back till later this afternoon.

Back to work for me, a 4 hour day, my DB/SIL are coming over for a visit. They haven't been here for quite awhile.

Char, how was your party last night? Did you have many guests? I hope it turned out very nice for you.

Lotte, I did pay Norton again, but I will check into a different antivirus next year. It's costly to get rid of the viruses. All I was doing was playing games on facebook and ....zap

What is the difference between a pc and Mac, I see the commercials on TV ??

A funny story story Aleida about Luke burying his bone in a flower pot, it does make a mess. I suppose you grounded him...LOL If someone would come to your door would he bark protecting his home?

A very delicious recipe of the chocolate decadent, but with diabetis here it's a no no. I can always make it for my self, children and gkids.

JP, another messy situation with the baby powder, that is one thing my kids didn't do, they did empty a bottle of shampoo in the tub, rinsed a teapot in the toilet, etc.

A friend of mine suggested a good anitvirus. He told me.... superantispyware.com is very good and not pricy at all, much cheaper then Norton. In fact he said you could have both at the same time.

Char, I agree about men, why did he do that work in an enclosed area with gas running a good way to fall asleeep and never wake up again.

Meesh, how is the family?

Cathy, does Shawn sleep through the nights? How much does he weigh now?

Pat, good for saying NO NO NO, enough is enough.

Like Char said the three provinces have no people living in the far north, what a waste of land. Everyone is bunch together in the southern part.

Dolores, what are you doing today? I sure would love to meet all the ladies. If I win the lottery it wouldn't take me long.

Emc, are you having more company this weekend?

saw this recipe that Laura posted on Sundays thread and thought we shd have a separate thread for recipes so we can find them.

A side dish I got from TOH got "raves". I'll make it again for sure !

Zesty Carrot Bake

1 pound carrots, cut into 1/2" (I added parsnips too) par-boil until tender

Combine following 5 ingredients and mix well:

2Tbsp minced onion

3/4 cup mayonaise

1/3 cup water

1 Tbsp horseradish (I didn't have any so used 1TBS dried dill)

1/4 tsp pepper

Pour this sauce over carrots in a buttered casserole dish

TOPPING:

1/2 cup dry fine bread crumbs

2 TBSP melted butter

Sprinkle on top of carrots. Bake uncovered at 350' for 25-30 minutes.

Remove from oven and

SPRINKLE top of casserole with 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese.

Return to oven for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.

(I had a lid on casserole dish while baking, but removed lid to melt cheese)

(serves 6)....should have made more !

Good Morning Friends,

I am having computer problems, I have to work on it today, I really don't understand what is going on. I have Norton scanned it and everything is fine, but the security tool is telling me I have viruses and if I want it rmoved I would have to pay, I all ready paid Norton. This is very confusing to me.

Had a nice relaxing day yesterday, and now that I am home I will do my cleaning here.

We hired our neighbour yesterday to pick up our leaves and cut the grass, using our lawn mover. André didn't want me to use it it's self propelled.

I'll let you know how I make out trying to fix the problem.

What a beautiful Sat. we had, everything I wanted to do was done. Not too much planned for today, went to church last night this was suppose to be my sleep in day but nature called and once up I'm up.

Later we will walk to the restaurant for breakfast, we are enjoying this time of year.

Dolores hope you had a great birthday, and that the family spoiled you. Evryone needs a little pampering now and then.

Grammapeach, what do you do Sundays? Wish I could go for a walk with you and everyone else on the CC.

Aleida, how goes it at your place? Poor Tiffiny with the LTC on strike, if would be better if she walked with a friend once it gets dark.

Another beautiful day is upon us, I need to clean the van maybe that will be my job for the day and laundry, dusting etc.

André made a great turn around, he is doing so much better, he does everything for himself. He is doing his breathing excercises, maybe it's doing it's job. He is not allowed to drive for a total of 4 weeks.

You must sign up no later than Nov 14,09.(this gives everyone a month to sign up)

I will email the list November 15th. (Cards are due out by Nov.22.09)(This gives us a week to make the final preparations for the cards to go out)

Good Morning Friends,

Yesterday right after work we went to Windsor to see our family Dr. he took a chest X-ray of André he still has some fluid in the lungs and the one lung is partially collasped. For now he has to do breathing exercises, deep breath and in two weeks we have to go back and see him. If lung is still the same he will have to go to the hospital and I have no idea what they will do. That is why he is unable to sleep lying down flat, I sure hope it will work itself out.

Another nice day for us, it will all change next week temps dropping.

Yesterday André wanted to go out, I drove him to WalMart and he walked around a bit and back home. He is always home alone and wanted to go and see other people. Grammapeach didn't show up to keep him company.

Aleida, how was the venison, did you eat some? More stitching for today? What day do you go to church?

Dolores are you feeling any better? Hope you had a relaxing day yesterday, it does the body good.

Char what are you up? The kids are going back to school today and it will be back to normal. Just you and Zack, to do whatever you feel like doing...LOL.

Pat, are things slowing down on the farm? I know that is a dumb ? but had to ask.

We are having our Indian summer nice temps today up to 20C it has been gorgeous. More people outside walking, raking leaves.

Gramma why don't you go to see you siblings, nothing is holding you back. Maybe you can catch a plane and see your family, and friends. Sometimes we need a change of scenery it does the soul a lot of good. Come on go for it and enjoy the trip, it will make a world of difference on how you feel. I worry about you even though you don't say it, I know how hard this time of year is for you, your DD will certainly understand.

André and I went for a walk yesterday, we took our time and liked the nice day.

Back to normal for me to work at all my clients again. They all said that they missed me, and are happy I'm coming to rescue them from cleaning. I can imagine how dusty it will be.

Pat, where does your DH go hunting? Does he ever head north to go for the big game?

Dolores, most people put up their Christmas lights on a nice day that doesn't mean we have to turn them on yet.

This is to anyone that will answer. A couple of years ago I was at niagra falls and didn't need a pass-port to get into canada, from the U.S. or back. I now here that you have to have one to get back into the states, is that true? What has been your experance? thanks, Granna2

Ever since we got our new mattress I can't get up in the morning, I love it, it's like sleeping on a cloud. So finally I'm here and ready to face the day. Went to church last night so could sleep in this morning, Another gorgeous day here up to 18C a day to go for a walk and enjoy the fresh air.

Char, what is your signature dish? Have you posted it on the recipe threat?

Aleida gone to London for the day, we'll miss you.

JP, everytime you work too much, your feet pay the price, too bad you couldn't work sitting down.

Pat, what are you doing today? Need I ask, you are always so busy doing this and that I can't keep up with you.

Good Morning Friends,

It's still dark out and we are in for some nice weather this weekend, up to 17C I need to finish the flower beds today. cutting down the perennials and then we are all set for winter.

André had his shower yesterday but he was too weak to dry himself so I did it and helped him get dressed. Also yesterday morning he sneezed the pain was horrible, just like his chest opened up. He has to keep his pillow by his side in case he does it again, to hold it tight to his chest.

Aleida, I bet that soup was good, I never had bread pudding myself, not appealling to me. Does Luke listen to you when you tell him to behave...LOL

Dolores, how is your mom doing? They did take the vein from his leg, it was badly bruised the first few days, now it's fine, no more swelling. Dolores always cooking/baking for others does anyone ever do something for you.?

Pat the same goes for you, how is your mom? What vehicle are you both interested in? Hopefully you won't be as busy come December.

Grammapeach, how is life in sunny Georgia? Come on tell us you miss the north, the snow, wind, ice and Brutus....LOL

JP, will you ver get relief from your foot? It must be so difficult to work when you are on your feet all the time.

Char, is Kaeli feeling better? What about Randene and Zach? Hopefully Dan won't get sick enough so he is not able to work. As work is scares for him during the winter months. Did you enjoy yourself last night at the birthday party? I do trust the Lord and place all our worries in His hands. One day at a time....

A cool morning, and warming up this afternoon.

André wants to have a shower now and he wants me to be there in case he needs help. He had a bad night, not feeling up to it. We all have our bad/good days.

What is the price in your area? I noticed that it certainly fluctuates in different towns/cities. Yesterday I filled up at 92.6 in Chatham and in my town 96.5. I read that we are really going to pay high prices this winter, what else is new.

Char, I hope that Dan will get enough work to carry your family through the winter.

I was ready to post earlier when my DS came on the IM and had a chat with him.

André is improving everyday and he said I can go back to work if I wanted so I am going to work today.

He pretty well does evrything for himself now, he is recovering preety good. The Dr. said that the sternum takes the longest to heal that can take up to three months.

The funeral I went to yesterday was a sad one, Peggy was loved by all, her poor DH was a sad case to look at he probably won't last too long without her.

Good Morning Friends,

We are in for some nice temps by the weekend up to 16C but for now we are expecting rain.

Later this morning I'm going to a funeral for one of my clients who passed away last Saturday, she was a kind warm hearted lady. Her house was always spotless, had to look hard for the dust. She will be missed very much by her family friends and church.

André feeling better he is making his own breakfast, and feeling a little frisky if you know what I mean. That is a no no for now.

Where can I find diet for low sodium, low cholesterol, high fibre, diabetic diet? I really don't know what to buy, I do know we need to eat more fish/chicken but what kind of sandwich meats ? I know cold cuts have lots of sodium.

Aleida, what a busy lady you are with all the stitching making stockings for everyone. A long list on the to do list.

Grammapeach, are you working today? I'm going back next week.

Char, what type of work will Dan find during the winter months? How are the kids? Is Kaeli feeling better? I love kids as long as they are not mouthy.

Dolores, I don't think I could keep up with you, the same goes for Pat. As far as I am concern the CC is a busy place with all the ladies trying to keep their heads above water.

Marilyn, how is everyone in your family? I bet the Munchkins love coiming to visit gramma. How are the little dogs?

I was busy yesterday, besides the regular housework had to make sure André had everything he needed. Yesterday he walked quite a bit and he is so tired after that. His B/P is great and he will get a little stronger everyday.
