Just got off the phone with Char... and we're having lunch at Moxies tomorrow.

And as for an update on the gals and the status of Cochrane.... well apparently things are so hot that the place is up in smoke... well, at least their internet is.

So that's why they haven't been online this afternoon.... other than being out horseback riding and just plan having fun... there was a storm that went through the area in early afternoon and they've been alone in their part of the world ever since. LOL Cookie has no idea how long it will be before their internet is fixed and back online as it sounds as it a tower was damaged in the storm...

So until then, just know I'm meeting with Char for a late lunch ... and then after that heading back to my daughter's to finish loading that last of the stuff that will fit into my van... and then Rebecca and I are heading back to Edmonton. But I'll long on when I get home and give you all an update - but hopefully by then Cochrane will be connected to the rest of the world again.

Well, it's almost time for Big Brother... see you all in the morning.

Yes, you gals down there in Cochrane, Alberta...how about a picture or two and some updates as to what's happening down there? Have the kids had a ride yet on the animals/ Do alpacas even GIVE rides? (I'm sure they're having a great time together., while the gals sit gabbing on the patio in Claire's own newly made furniture...she's one very talented lady.)

We had a spectacular thunderstorm this afternoon. What a display was shown of God's majesty and power!!! The sky is still dark so we could get another one later this evening. I watched the lightning display from every window. It was beautiful!

I've played a couple of wedding receptions there, in quartets and it was fabulous! Who would ever know that such a place exists in the city? I'm so lucky to live in a similar location, with more trees out there, than anything else. There are a lot of those valleys and green belt areas in the city! Let the cement and the loud parties be to themselves! The Old Mill has regular Big Band dances, and one of these days, I'm going to get to one!

VB

Re: Canadian Corner 15/07/08

Afternoon all. Everyone is so busy all the time.

Back from a short walk to the Credit Union. We had transferred an RRSP from the credit union in Winnipeg to our credit union here in Kelowna and the Winnipeg one dinged us a transfer fee of $50.00. So we wanted to know if our credit union here would pick up the fee. They will and were really surprised that the fee was so high. They said they charge $25.00.

Haven't done too much today. Just a little dusting. Sure gets dusty fast with all the windows open.

Will pop in later to see what else has happened around here.
Thought so, YF...I was thinking already, huh??? and we're sittin' on the stuff and ON can sell it so much cheaper??? Had to be a typo...,as it was.

Well, the techie came for our Star Choice. He made some adjustments in positioning and also suggested we might want to update our ancient receiver. Now for our high speed internet...coming later this week. Yippeeeee! No more tying up of phone lines.

I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things after the wedding. What a beautiful place the old mill is in Etobicoke (Toronto). The meal was wonderful but as usual the DJ was way too loud.

Then on sunday we went to Hamilton to continue celebrating with just family. It was a beautiful day & we had the meal outside. There were three accordians there & a lot of singing. I saw a girl there with whom I was a friend in Timmins in 1962 She now lives in Winnipeg. Her husband is a Major in the Canadian Military & is leaving for Afganistan in September.

Wishing Ada a belated B-day & Viola a very Happy Birthday.

Waving to everyone else. Hopefully I'll be back to normal by tomorrow. This partying is way too much for this old girl.
