I took the Payroll administration courses, and am so certified, but even the teacher at that course told us that year by year, so many of the rules, such as this one, change, that only someone with an up-to-date labour taxation and payroll guide, or whatever they call it this year, would know. Your best bet to get a straight answer would be to contact your local MP's constituency office and ask them to check up on it, or ask them where you can check.

Good Luck!

ViolaB

Re: Canada Day Getting Paid

Well, it's been a long time since I was out in the work world! I believe, for starters, you must be employed full time to recieve any of these stat pays. And I'm not sure if there is a minimum days worked till you start being able to recieve stat pay. It may coincide with the time when you start getting your benefits. I know a lot of companies try to hire people for just under 40 hours per week so that they don't have to pay these sort of benefits.

Canada Day Getting Paid

Hi Does anyone here know If you have not been with a company for 3 months ,Do you still get paid for Stat holidays as long as you work your shift before and after ,Many of the people I work with believe we do I however cannot see this company paying us for the day to do nothing Usually we have Fri off but because we do not work Wed we do work Fri

THanX Any help appreciated
