Well Here we are in the last month of the year!!!

I think November was a bust for me as far as getting much quilting done!

Anyone do any batter?? LOL

I am so looking forward to the New Year! I am going to get a better handle on my organization in my sewing room! (Yeah right) Waaahhhaaaaa!!

I would like to get a better handle on it!!!

DH just moved some things around for me and I do have a bit more space so that might motivate me!

We will see! I will keep you updated on wether this happens or not!

YEP! Here I am......................the "NOT" yarn person opening a new week of posts !! I should have put a sad face on the title............

I spent all yesterday afternoon sorting thru my many many decorations & ornaments.!! Boy what a collection. I re-boxed older ones to be passed down to DD & DGD & put them way back in the closet. 2 more boxes to go thru; am putting out a few Santa's as I come across them.

Pretty frosty here this morning 33* .............looks pretty on the grass. First Sunday for no Nascar; don't know what SO will find to watch on TV now. He'll probably take a nap!

Hope to hear & maybe see what you girls are up to this week.................

Good morning! Well, I woke up to a bright, sunny morning today. A couple of days have been really foggy this week.

I'm sure everyone is busy getting their Thanksgiving plans together. We have been invited to the home of one of Taryn's friends for Thanksgiving dinner. I am bringing a cranberry salad and 2 fruit pies. Anyone have any good fruit pie recipes? I haven't made any in years. We're not big dessert eaters, so the only pies I ever make anymore are pumpkin pies. My dad is coming on Friday, so we'll have a smaller version some time on the weekend. I'm still not feeling 100%, so I just did some cleaning yesterday and read a book by Steven Berry.

My plan this week was to do some stamping and scrapping, but we'll see. There's an on line crop at A Cherry on Top this weekend. They've had some cute classes so far. Makes me want to make something for Christmas!

Ellen, you certainly keep busy, don't you. I have my paren't old butter churn. I remember my mom using it when I was small. It was a lot of work.

Play food for 2 year old+pots & pans

We have a 2 year old granddaughter & our DIL asked for 'play' foods & pots & pans for a kid's kitchen. I was thinking of saving empty mini-cereal boxes, Jell-O & pudding boxes. I looked on line (following my own advise to google questions) & saw some fake foods crafters had made but some looked like a choking hazard. And, some didn't look like they'd take much handling. I also saw some doll-size dishes at IKEA & somewhere else but they were made of a breakable material (the display had quite a few broken dishes) so that's not suitable for a toddler. Maybe cute in a display doll house. Has anyone seen a source for these items or have made items? I'm not artistic & not likely to use clay to create foods & then paint them. Any safe for toddlers, clever, sturdy ideas out there? Thank you!

Good morning Everyone!

Well I have been real sick and I am trying to decide if it was THE flu or not! We have lots of students with it so chances are good for me to have/get it. The vaccines are so scarce that I will get it before I could possibly be vaccinated.

I set aside all the quilt tops I need to back and realized I have 11 to finish so I decided to finish all of them before I start another (but I think I tried that before) So we will so how I do.

I need some ideas , instructions or pictures to decorate an old sled. I have looked on the internet and found almost nothing. So if anyone has seen or done this I would appreciate it if you could help. I need to decorate it for xmas.

A few years ago I saw the directions to make pearls from dried roses. I think it was in a 'Work Basket" magazine, but not sure. Dose anyone know how to make them or have old Work Basket magazines? Thanks, granna2

How do I add glitter to Christmas cards?

I love how some of the store bought cards have glitter on them. I do make my own Christmas cards and want to add a little glitter on some of the areas. I am not exactly sure as to how to apply it. Should I use full-strength Elmer's glue? Or should I add a little water to some glue? Should I apply it with a small paint brush? Then I will shake some glitter on the glue areas, shake off excess, let dry.

Good morning! I hope all of you remembered to fall back an hour last night. It was nice waking up to daylight instead of feeling like I was getting up in the middle of the night. It was actually around 70 degrees yesterday. I could sit outside for a while in a short sleeved shirt. In fact, I'm thinking of changing into one right now. I opened my windows again this morning. I have to enjoy the fresh air while I can. It'll be too cold to do that before long.

We had a higher number of trick or treaters than usual last night. I think most business areas had their events on Friday night and last night was sooo nice. Mike carved an awesome looking jack o lantern yesterday into a skull design. He does such a great job!

I am trying to find Trellis yarn. It has been discontinued and I would love to find some. I have crocheted a couple of necklaces with it and really liked them. Maybe someone knows of another brand that would work. This particular one was made by Lion.

When the fuzzy, speciality yarn came out & everyone was wearing those narrow, fluffy scarves, a friend of mine showed me how to knit them. I made about a dozen....my knitting was only going in a straight line...could only make scarves. It's been a couple of years since I made them & I'd like to try it again but cannot figure it out. I just went to about.com for a refresher course - I just either end up with a lump or the stitches slide off. I remember enjoying it, found it relaxing to knit but just can't get back to it. Guess I'm just venting that something that was so simple is now eluding me :-(

Good Morning !!

Clocks set back & paper read.................Yankee's won the game & I had about 50 trick/treaters last night!

NOW for the month of November!! sigh!

I finished the dog snuggle & will weave in ends today. Need to get together with DGD & see when she can go the the Ithaca Animal Rescue with 6-7 blankets.

Will work more on Welcome & watch the race this afternoon! Time to put Halloween away & maybe get out a few turkeys! I have always felt that Thanksgiving gets a bum rap............Christmas is always RIGHT THERE!!

Good morning! New week, last week of October, how is that possible?

My left pinkie is giving me some grieve. Feels like a sprain? or maybe arthritis? hmmm guess that puts learning Continental knitting on the back burner

The T-Top sweater is coming along very nicely. I'm almost done with the 2nd side. However there's a small error near the top edge of the 1st side that I completed. It's been nagging at me, and won't leave me alone so I fear I may have to go undo the bind-off and fix it shouldn't be a big deal. I just can't leave an error unfixed when I know it's there, it just screams at me :-( never mind that no one else will probably even notice but I KNOW it's there. I tell myself it's the Amish way (they deliberately make a mistake in everything they make) but naw, that doesn't work.

More football today=more knitting :-)
