    Make a turkey out of.........

I know I've seen some different ideas on how to make a turkey out of different candies, cookies and such, but I hadn't thought about doing it until now. If anyone has directions or websites where I can go to find out how to make them I could sure use it now.

Ritz Cracker Turkey added 11-20-99 Original Author Unknown

For this tasty snack you will need the following:
    Ritz crackers
    Ritz bitz with peanut butter
    M&M's
    candy corn
    peanut butter

To make the turkey, spread peanut butter on the Ritz cracker. Put the Ritz bitz down at the bottom and cover it with peanut butter. Use 2 brown M&M's for eyes that go at the top of the Ritz bitz. Put one candy corn point out at the bottom of the eyes for the beak. Behind the head, place 4 colored M&M's in a pattern, such as red, yellow, red, yellow. Then add a candy corn on each side of the head for the feet. Delicious! Messy, but they love it.

This one is a little different using pretzels.

    You need the following:
    thin pretzel sticks
    Ritz Crackers
    Ritz Bitz Sandwiches
    mini M&M's
    candy corn
    peanut butter

To make the turkey, first make a Ritz Sandwich by spreading peanut butter in between 2 regular sized Ritz Crackers. Stick the pretzel sticks out of the stop of the cracker as turkey feathers. Put a small dab of peanut butter on the middle of the Ritz Cracker Sandwich and then place the Ritz bitz down on the peanut butter. Use 2 brown M&M's for eyes that go at the top of the Ritz bitz. Put one candy corn, point out, at the bottom of the eyes for the beak. Use the peanut butter as glue to hold the mini M&M's and Candy Corn. Then add 2 candy corn (or 2 small pretzel sticks) coming out the bottom for the feet. The turkeys are so cute! Kids' love them!!

And finally, this is the "recipe" I actually used last year for an activity at a volunteer program. It was fun, but a bit messy.

    Turkey Treats
These are cute and easy to make.
    Ritz Cracker
    canned frosting,
    chocolate kiss,
    candy corn
    caramel.
Spread frosting on cracker. Peel the paper off the kiss and place kiss near the bottom of the cracker. add candy corn above the kiss to make feathers; place one corn on the kiss for the head. Let frosting dry. Attach a caramel to the back with more frosting to make it stand up.

This recipe comes from an old Workbasket magazine. You will need

    Vanilla Wafers
    Chocolate covered cherries
    Candy corn
    Boston Baked Beans (candy)
    Chocolate Frosting

Spread some frosting on a vanilla wafer. This is the turkey's tail. Press pieces of Candy Corn into the frosting in the shape of a fan (for tail feathers). Standing the vanilla wafer on it's edge, and using more frosting as glue, attach a chocolate covered cherry to it (this is the turkey's body). Then attach one Boston Baked Bean to the cherry (this is the head). Let set overnight.

There is a Cookie Turkey in the Nov./Dec. 2004 Quick Cooking. Here they use fudge striped cookies. I am going to make some for my DGC.
    Have fun, Kaytee.
