    Oven Thermometer?

Does anyone have an oven thermometer?
I have a new stove & it seems to be slower than the one before (this was the first holiday I used it) Now I'm wondering if the temp is off. Are oven thermometers accurate? Are the more expensive ones better?

    thanks for your help

    RE: Oven Thermometer?

I have one. My oven heats about 25* hotter than the dial says. I leave in hanging on the centre rack. Mine cost about $10-$12 and seems to work just fine.

I have one in my oven at home and we have one in each oven at school. It's kind of a habbit of mine now whenever I check on anything in the oven, I read the thermometer first.

    RE: Oven Thermometer?

I have a very finicky oven and cannot trust what the dial says, I have to use a thermometer for accuracy. The temp can be anywhere from 25-50 degrees off of what I set the dial too, and it zooms up super hot without a warning, so I am checking my therm. a lot.

Needless to say, we will be getting a new oven!
