    Hey, what's your story

Howdy everyone, I was just "flutterin'" through again. I'm getting myself into trouble by loadin' up on all of these fine recipes!! Anyway I really do enjoy reading some of these log on names. It would appear that, with all these interesting names that there are some interesting stories behind them.
I got my name(The Butterfly Man) from a lot of the people in my town, starting with the civic garden club. I've studied butterflies quite intenisively since I tried starting a butterfly garden for my wife many years ago by planting a butterfly mix packet of seeds.LOL!
Now I help people around town to attract butterflies to their yards and gardens. I also make butterfly crafts and paint detailed butterflies. I know it's not exactly a "macho" name but SOMEBODY has to do it! So I'd like to hear your stories!

When my nephew was little, he couldn't say my first name. So I became Neen. First I was Neenabeaners but had puter probs so now I am Neenerbeaners. Nothing too exciting or original!

I love horses(used to own them before I became disabled) & I have long blonde hair so I am the PalominofillyinMS. Palomino Filly was my "handle" back in the CB radio days of the late 70's.

I'm known to be a straight shooter. People only ask my opinion if they really want the answer. Definately not a butt-kisser...LOL :o)

    Hello ButterflyMan,

I like butterflies (although I don't know them by name like all you folks over to the butterfly board). When I was 24 I decided that I was ready to leave behind a bad situtation, I was ready to fly free, so to speak. So I got my first butterfly tattoo, and the rest is history. When I first started chatting online I came up with the nickname. The maiden I added on there because I wasn't married. The nickname has stuck with me ever since then. So when I joined here 2 years ago, I just used my nickname. lol.

Hello all. Nothing too exciting about my name either. I actually tried signing on as Indiana Grandma, since that is what I am to the 4 grandkids in California. Alas, the name had been taken!!!!! Tried a few others & they had been taken also. Since we live on a farm, I finally tried downonthefarm & it was accepted. So here I am down on the farm in Southern Indiana.

Hi downonthefarm and bud from a fellow Hoosier. I'm at the other end of the state though!

My nickname is real exciting. It's my initials. Lots of thought went into that nickname. LOL!!!!

I'm a Tennessee Hillbilly - what else can I say? I retired from civil service after 27 years, have two grown dd's and 3 grandchildren. I tried several names, RT was the only one not taken so ....... here I am.

Well, mine is really easy--at the time I chose it (2001) I had one wonderful GKid--now I have 2!

I used to think I didn't ever want to be called "Granny", but when I heard my little GSon say it for the first time, it was the most beautiful word in the world. ;)

And now little GDaughter has added a new version: she calls me "Ganny". :)

But I think I'll leave it as "Grannyfay" because she'll learn to say her "r's" before long. ;)

    RE: Hey, what's your story

I have pretty much the same story as GrannyFay. When I started coming here, I had one grandson who was not quite one year old. He'll be 5 in Sept. and I have 4 more grandchildren. So I'm GrandmaK because my last name starts with K.
