I can't make myself experiment with any of the other flavors because this one is sooooooo goooooood!
If you love caramel, this is the dessert for you. I do double up on the frosting (use a can in the cake and then a can on top), but your whole house smells like caramel! Delish!

    Caramel, Toffee, Walnut Crawling Cake

1 box Duncan Hines Caramel Cake Mix
    4 eggs
    1/2 cup oil
    1 cup milk
1 can caramel or Dulce de Leche Frosting
    1 cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup toffee pieces
Mix all together. I always bake my crawling cake in long pans instead of the bundt, just easier to me and I don't have to worry about the crawling stuff! Since I added two cups of extra ingredients to this one (walnuts and toffee) I baked it in a 15 x 11 instead of the 9 x 13 and it was perfect. Greased it well with Crisco and powdered with flour. Bake 50 min to 1 hour, until tests done, at 350
Then I heated another can of Dulce de Leche in the microwave, poured it over the cake and sprinkled more toffee chips all over.
I'll have to make a trip to the hospital with leftovers later...toooooo tempting!

This sounds very good, I don't think I have ever seen the caramel cake, I will have to be on the lookout for one. I have seen the icing. Thanks for posting, I just love those toffee pieces!

There is a very long thread about the Crawling Cakes and all the disasters experienced while trying to make these cakes. I will try to find it and bump it up for you or if anyone else has it handy go ahead and bump it.

When this recipe was given to me many years ago the instructions was MIX BY HAND.If you beat with a mixer it puts too much air in the batter and it will run over.
Since I do not want to clean an oven that is the way I have always made it and have not had a problem.I mix the cake mix according to the instructions on the back of the box only I mix it by hand and then fold in the icing.I spray my bundt pan and I also flour it.I have not found that the brand makes any difference.

    Try it if you dare!
