    Soft Breadsticks

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
    1 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
    3 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
    Cornmeal
    1 egg white
    1 tablespoon water

    Coarse salt, optional

In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt and oil; stir until dissolved.
Add 2 cups of flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a
greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled,
about 1 hour. Punch dough down and divide into 12 portions. Using your hands, roll
each portion into a 10-in. x 1/2-in. strip. Place 1 inch apart on a greased baking sheet
sprinkled with cornmeal (I omit the cornmeal). Let rise, uncovered, until doubled, about 45-60 minutes. Beat
egg white and water; brush over breadsticks. Sprinkle with coarse salt if desired. I use coarse sea salt) Don't overdo the salt but if you do you can brush some off.

    Place
baking sheet on middle rack of oven; place a large shallow pan filled with boiling water on

the lowest rack. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Brush again with egg white. Bake 5
minutes more or until golden brown.

    Yield: 1 dozen.

I have been making this recipe for several years now. It is from an old  Taste Of Home recipe found .I used to crave those soft breadsticks from Olive Garden , but once I found this fairly easy recipe I can make them whenever I want.I use Instant yeast and my KA I omit the cornmeal and use silicone mats or parchment.

While they are still hot I lightly brush them with melted butter mixed with one or two crushed garlic cloves.

    MILKY WAY BROWNIES:

    Serves: 12-15
    Source: Lisa
    Effort: easy
Comments: These are some of the best brownies I have ever eaten. They are so
very easy to make also. Only problem is staying out of them.

    INGREDIENTS:
1 pkg. German Chocolate Cake Mix
    ¾ c. melted margarine
2/3 c. Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 bag Milk Way Miniatures, chopped

    INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix cake mix, margarine and Eagle brand milk together. In 9x13” pan spread ½
mixture. I spayed the pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
Sprinkle chopped Milky Ways over top of mix. Take remaining mix and drop

This is the best apple bread I've ever had.  I make it a lot and everyone loves it.  Apple Lover posted it.  She wasn't on the board very long, but I'm glad she left this recipe.

    1 C oil
    2 C sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 C flour
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3 chopped apples
    1 C chopped nuts
cinnamon & sugar for topping - set aside.

    1.    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease pans (I use two 8 x 4 bread pans). Mix oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.  Add flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, apples and nuts.

    2.    Pour mixture into prepared pans. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture on top before baking. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Re: What is the ONE ABSOLUTE BEST recipe you have ever discovered on the BB ???

Suzycreamcheese posted this.  It's one of our all-time favorite cakes

    NEVERENDING CHOCOLATE BUNDT CAKE

1 devil's food cake mix (mine was DH Moist Deluxe Dk. Choc. Fudge 17.53 oz) (18.25 oz)
1 pkg. dark fudge instant pudding mix (I didn't look at the ounces (3.9 oz.) it was the small one!)
1 1/4 cups buttermilk (I used 2% milk with lemon juice)
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1/2 cup chocolate syrup
    4 eggs
    1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.

    1.    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, milk, oil, syrup, and eggs. Beat on low speed to blend, then beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Gently stir in chocolate chips and pour batter into greased and floured 12-cup capacity Bundt cake pan.

    2.    Bake for 55 minute to 1 hour (mine was about 58 minutes) or until cake tester comes out clean. Let cake cool in pan for 10 minutes, and then turn out onto cooling rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar for garnish or drizzle with Chocolate Glaze. (I used Chocolate Glaze)

    3.    To make it look extra special, drizzle over white over the dark chocolate glaze. It adds a lot of pizzazz for a professional-looking touch.

    4.    Chocolate Glaze
    cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2/3 cup evaporated milk (the teeny can)
    I added a little sugar

    5.    Combine chocolate and milk in small saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat until blended and mixture comes to a boil. Lower heat and cook, stirring constantly until thickened. (This makes A LOT OF GLAZE!!!) *Barb's note - I let it cool a little until spreadable.

    6.    WHITE CHOCOLATE DRIZZLING GLAZE

    7.    1/4 cup white chocolate baking chips, melted

    8.    ***For a quick and easy way to drizzle the glaze, put the melted chocolate in a plastic bag (like a sandwich bag) and snip off a corner. Then squeeze the bag gently to drizzle the chocolate.  The white chocolate adds a nice crunch

    Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle
    Posted by: CookieCarol_IL

2 pkgs (8 oz) cream cheese
    2 cups powdered sugar
    1 cup sour cream
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp almond extract
    1/2 pint whipping cream
    1 TBS sugar
    1 tsp vanilla
1 angel food cake, torn into bite sized pieces
    2 quarts fresh strawberries, sliced
    3 TBS sugar

In large bowl, cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar; add sour cream, vanilla, and almond extract. Set aside. In small deep bowl, whip the cream, vanilla, and sugar. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese mixture. Add cake pieces and fold lightly, set aside. Combine strawberries and sugar. Layer in large glass bowl (this is a very pretty dessert) starting with strawberries, then cake pieces. Continue layering until finished, 3 or 4 layers is good (depends on you bowl). Finish with strawberries on top and garnish with additional whipped cream if you want. Cover and chill well. Makes 24 servings. I use Cool Whip instead of the whipping cream.
