    Crockpot roast

I usually like to get a nice marble-like chuck roast and mix cream of mushroom & onion soup mix together and let it cook all day.  Well, I bought 2 pieces of meat, they are called beef chuck underblade roast which I thought would come out nice and tasty like the other chuck roast...NOT..The first one cooked alllllll day and was still tough. Anyone have any suggestions on how to cook this sort of ROCK roast without using cream of mushroom concoctions ??? I could bonk myself in the head for buying these but I hate to have to throw it away. I prefer recipes that are not tomato based. HELP !!!!  Thanks in advance !!! Good day to all !!!

bonnieq posted this about a week ago when someone asked a similar question.   Sounds worth a try!

Granny, I have posted this many times on the BB. Several people have thanked me and several people have just ignored me but I SWEAR to you this works.

Get a pot of boiling water and add several teabags. When it is at a rolling boil add your meat. Boil for about 1 minute. It won't look pretty but the tannin in the tea breaks down the fibers in the meat. Cook it as usual and it will be as tender as you want. I've bee doing this for over 40 years by now. I got it from a very dear person and I can tell you it even works when I am camping. I can make a fork tender chuck roast over and open fire or a bottom round swiss steak that you can cut with a fork. Try it or don't but it works. Good luck.
