Prednisone Withdrawal....

As for the tirade I just wanted you to know what a real accident was like. you see accidents are a touchy subject this week in our family. You see a tractor trailer was passing another one in a zone clearly marked as no passing for tractor trailers. He lost control, and flipped in his side blocking all lanes of traffic, but it was in a curve, and the brother of my DD's co-worker didn't see it until it was too late. His vehicle traveled through the trailer. The firemen tried to cut them out , but my DD's friend died in his brother's arms. Then I got the news about my other DD and ...well I guess you caught it. I imagine that in your line of work you have to add that Drama and flair as opera is not like the theater where you have words to tell the story. I do think some people on the board would like to see a little less drama

Did you even read this part? I know Sharon is part of the theater, and is used to using theatrics. All I'm saying is that a lot of people on the board think she takes it a liiitle to far, and to make things clear, I've only "met" her since the accident. But looking back at just a few of her past posts this problem has been going on for a long time. I would say that probably when she is not doing a show or whatever, she misses the attention, and a lot of people get tired of it. I wasn't trying to hurt her feelings in any way. I was just a newcomer who stumbled on this and gave MOHO. I have been picked on in my own life enough times to ever be hurtful to anyone. I think Sharon is a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. But I think she needs to come down off that pedistal she and some others have put her on and remember she is human just like the rest of us and most of us don't make a mountain out of a molehill nor do we act like we are superior to everyone else just because God gave us a beautiful gift and we take and muddy it up by flaunting it. And as far as showing everyone what kind of person I am,no I will not brag in front of God, but he knows the things I have done for others. I will tell you that I get along withjust about everyone...except maybe my brother and two ex husbands.  

 Oh, okay, so my car being totalled wasn't a "real accident".  WHAT?????

 I tell what happens...like everybody else.  For you to say it's theatrics...is...interesting.  Why you have a problem with the way I tell things...is YOUR problem, not mine.  And "not trying to hurt her feelings in any way..."  LOL!   You have a funny way of showing that.  I am human, never said I was not.  If you knew me and saw how I act with my friends, and cared to see how my friends here see and understand me, you would never say such a stupid thing.  "Muddy it up by flaunting it"....WHAT?????  So, if I sing or have pictures of some performance related things, I am "flaunting it" by telling people about it or asking them to listen to it?  So, singers should keep their recordings secret or they'll be considered flaunting?  

Do you hear yourself?  Do you see how ridiculous this is?  Do you see how it makes no sense?  Should I stop singing until I can sing on a cloud with a harp?  That is insane, to say that by telling about it, I'm flaunting it.  That sounds like just plain jealousy.  Yup.  Which is silly, childish and sad.

And for you to admit you have a brother and two ex husbands who don't get along with you...is very telling in itself.

I don't know you at all.  Why don't we keep it that way.  I will not seek you out to insult you (I never seek anybody out for that, but I will SURELY defend myself) and you just look the other way when you see my name, okay?  I seem to upset you too much and I SURELY don't want to do that.  

Amazing, how the double standards around here only come into effect when it comes to me!  Get off my back NOW. 

 Oh, and I'm sorry but I'm laughing so hard at your comment "opera has no words to tell the story".  I'll be sure to tell that one to my fellow performers when they're studying their WORDS...thousands and thousands of WORDS!.  You just said volumes again about yourself with that one.  YOU guess what it says about you, I can't say with a straight face.

Diva, I've only been coming here about a year and I have enjoyed your posts.  I hope you don't let negative people influence the zest you have for life.  I so enjoy the posts and the photos.

I'm very glad you are feeling much better. 

I don't understand why people seem to enjoy hurting others.  You definitely hit the nail on the head with the word Jelousy.  It is really sad.  I'm always happy for someone who is doing good or having good things happen and I feel bad when things are the opposite.

I was on prednisone for a week before having sinus surgery.  I had no ill effects from it with the exception of my blood levels were high.  I think it could cause problems when taking it for longer periods.

 Thanks Rebecca (as usual ) and Jeri, I totally agree, I am always happy when something good happens to somebody and upset when the opposite happens...Heck, I even love to see other singers (even sopranos! LOL) do great...I am not the competitive, cut-throat type and I want everybody to win and do well. 

Nancy, glad you didn't have to be on that stuff any longer than that.  I was on it for over 21 days and I just didn't want to be on it for an additional 20....to me, that is way too long-term.

I was prescribed prednisone for poison oak for a short time, maybe 5 days. During that time I felt better than I ever had because it was helping my arthritis myalgia and everything else. I wish there was something that would help that much and not have the side effects.

This started out as a response so that some people who do need certain meds don't take them because others have had side effects. I would not have gotten so defensive if  you hdn't called another bb member a name. as far as the car accidents were concerned I was just a little confused myself that you would show the world what looked like very minor injuries. I didn't mean for you to take it so personally. You are right, I don't know much about the Arts as I was brought up in an area that did not have much access I guess you could say to these kinds of things. The closest I ever got was the High school plays. All I was trying to do was help you get some of the other People who have been listening to you for years, and feel you are a real Drama Queen by being a little less dramatic in your posts. but like I said before maybe you need this attention you draw to your self when you are not performing on stage. I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot as I do admire you for your voice and looks, and yes perhaps I am jealous of the life you live and the places you have been. But I wouldnt trade places with you for all the money in the world, because I am usually someone who is extremely shy.and I believe that it is better to do what you can to help others not as well off as most people, and not brag about my accomplishments. As far as Flaunting your "fame" it seems to me that most actors, singers etc, try to hide and get away from the fans photographer's and reporters, not hold out their arms and say "look at me."You don't need to answer this as I won't be back, and by the way, in case you think I'm stupid I studied to get my degree in a college in the area. It was Electronic Engineering Technology, and I was the only female in the class, and no that was not to get attention as I was 35 years old at the time and married with 3 children. At the time, I had many health and personal problems the most important being an abusive husband who beat on me and our children and never let us go out. At the time There were no women's shelters, and I wouldn't put that kind of a burden on my family. I finally left him and moved to stay with a friend who had been begging me to come back to where she lived. I met my second husband, and had a child with him. I finally left him as he was an alchoholic who did not want help. As for my brother, he spent 15 years getting our parents expectations up for a visit. By the time he got around to visit they were both dead. I guess you could also add my SIL to that list, but he is just a jerk and his own wife can't stand him.
