Help need easy breakfast quiche recipe for Easter morn?

I'm the pastor's wife and my husband volunteered me for a quiche to bring to the after sunrise service breakfast. I also have 2 other services to go to that morning.  I want something that can feed a crowd, easy to bring, and prepare.  Any suggestions?

For this kind of thing, I'd be looking at the easiest possible, although I'm sure you know that. Have you considered an "Impossible Pie" recipes for a quiche of some kind? Quiches can be so time consuming with the crust and all, which is why I'm suggesting an impossible pie.

What's your cooking situation?...does the casserole have to arrive baked?...or will you have access to an oven?

RE: I am responsible for breakfast the morning after Thanksgiving!

A favorite at our house that I will be making is a recipe from taste of home a couple of years ago. Quick and delicious.

Spray 9X12 casserole dish and cover the bottom with 1 roll of crescent rolls. Press seams together to seal

Cook 1 pound of favorite sausage (I usually do this the night before)
Place sausage over cresent roll dough.

Slightly beat 5 eggs, seasoned with salt and pepper and add 2 tablespoons milk. Pour eggs over sausage.

Sprinkle top with shredded cheese - about 1 cup

Bake 20-25 minutes @400 until crust is brown and eggs are set.

Cut into squares and serve with fresh fruit and you have a wonderful and quick breakfast

Perfect for Brunch ~  This is a very pretty casserole~  Janie

    Broccoli, Sausage and Cheese Casserole

    Ingredients

8-oz pork sausage, cooked and drained

10-oz package of chopped  broccoli, thawed and drained

1-1/2 cups of cheddar cheese, divided (  I used a mexi blend)

1 cup of ricotta cheese  ( I used cottage cheese )  No problem

8 eggs, lightly beaten ( if making 1/2 of this recipe 3 eggs will work fine)

    1/4 cup milk

1 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp salt ( did not use the salt)

1 roma tomato, thinly skiced ( used chopped red bell mpepper)

Oven set on 350.  Lightly greasr a 7x11" baking pan ( if making 1/2 of this recipe an 8x8" square dish is perfect)

Combine the cooked sausage and broccoli and 1/2 cup of the cheese. Spread out onto the prepared dish.

Combine the eggs, ricotta cheese, milk, spices and another 1/2 cup of the cheese . Mix well then pour over the sausage mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and top with the tomato slices. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

    Thanks Ms Janie!

Re: Sausage Breakfast PIzza~ Posted by KateMarie

Here is the recipe I plan for Sunday morning breakfast:

    Breakfast Brunch

    9 eggs

    2 1/4 C. milk

    1 t. salt

    1 t. dry mustard

1 C. shredded Swiss or Cheddar cheese

2 # pork sausage, cooked and drained or 2 # cubed ham

    1 sm. onion, finely chopped

1 small green pepper, finely chopped

    1 can mushrooms, chopped

8 sliced bread, buttered and cubed

1 C. frozen hash browns, the cubes

In large bowl beat eggs.  Add milk, salt and mustard.  Fold in cheese, meat, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, hash browns, and bread cubes.  Pour into buttered 9 x 13 pan.  Refrigerate overnight.  Bake at 325 degrees for one hour.  Let stand 5-10 minutes before cutting.  You can alter your ingredients according to your tastes.

Breakfast Quiche presented by Hummingbird Gardens and Retreat Bed & Breakfast

    4 eggs (beat)
    1/2 pound cooked crumbled bacon
    2 T. chives
    1/2 cup fresh mushrooms
    1 T. garlic powder
1 cup shredded cheese ( any kind)
    3 T. flour
    1 1/2 to 2 cups milk
    salt and pepper to taste
(mixed fresh vegetable - green peppers, onion, etc)

Beat your eggs, put in your vegetables, and put in your flour so it does not get lumpy or mix with milk (so it will thicken when baked). Then add rest of ingredients and bake at 350 until knife is inserted and comes out clean.

This is also a very good vegetarian pie.

Re: Help need easy breakfast quiche recipe for Easter morn?

I found this recipe at the following site. It has recipes from bed and breakfasts all over the US. http://www.virtualcities.com/ons/recipe.htm

    Ingredients
    36 brown-and-serve sausage links
8 Golden Delicious apples, peeled and sliced
    Brown sugar
    Cinnamon
Brown the sausage in the microwave and drain. Into a 2-quart casserole dish, layer apples, sausage, apples, and sausage. Over each layer of sausage sprinkle a small amount of brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees, stirring several times.

I used fresh link sausages instead of the brown and serve. I did cut them in two before frying them on the stove. I used about 1/3 cup of sugar on each sausage layer along with about 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Margielou
