TODAY IS A VERY SAD DAY FOR ME, I LOST SOMEONE VERY DEAR TO MY HEART LASTNITE

We lost our Rotreiler last nite he was about 18 years old and had arthritis in his hips and I went to check on him and he was in his dog house which he loved and didnt want to come in so I told him "it was okay Manny you can stay out here tonite", so I went in and finished watching tv and came back out to check on him again about an hour later and he was laying on the patio, like he was just sleeping and I called his name" Manny" and he didnt even pick his head up, I am so so so so sad right now, he was my best friend and I loved him very much.......I knew this would hurt alot but I had no idea it would be so painful to me.....

I have had animals all my life and when one of them dies it always feels the same, like a knife cutting into your heart....I miss him so much.

My heart is breaking for you too.They are our family that love us no matter what. The blessing in your story is for you to have loved him to live 18 years is amazing. You have so much to be proud of and hope all your precious memories will help you through this loss. Take care and I do believe there is a doggie heaven and now he is out of pain.

Oh Pam, my heart goes out to you, and I'm crying tears with you.  I've been down that road in the last year as well.  Your happy memories will be with you until you meet at the rainbow bridge.  Keeping you in my prayers!

I'm so sorry!  As a dog owner (Ihave two) I can so relate to your pain and grief.  Try and take comfort in the fact that Manny knew you loved him and now he's not in pain anymore. He is running and having fun in the fields of heaven.

Pam-I am so very sorry.I lost my Shep/Wolf/Rottweiller (Ralf) when he was 18 yrs old. He was my buddy & pal. Just know that he is in Heaven now and isnt in any pain.

  I'm so sorry....we have 2 dogs and have had, and lost, dogs before so I know how you feel.  They're our 4 legged kids with fur and we love them to pieces.

  One of our dogs had emergency surgery a month ago to remove her spleen which had a tumor on it-the biopsy came back saying the tumor was malignant.  She's doing OK....the vet didn't hold out much hope-and said enjoy every day with her which we are.

  I don't think you're ever ready to let them go......a piece of your heart goes with them.

We had to put our 14 year old Malamute to rest 2 years ago.  His name was Kavick (means Wolverine in Innuit).  He was the kindest soul (dog wise) that I have ever encountered...he had severe athritis in the hips, also.  He was suffering in the end, but he still tried to be a part of our lives, the kids, the only thing that remained the same with him was his appetite and his love for us.  You could see the loyalness and love in his big brown eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pain is raw now, but you have your memories of him, and nobody can take those away from you.  They are YOURS.

The pain will slowly go away, but he's resting now.  I know you, and you are not one to allow something/someone you love feel any suffering.

Give it time..........................give yourself time.

Pam, so sorry for the loss of your dog.  He was part of your family and the loss is so hard to take.

It's almost a year since we had to put our little Bosco to sleep, old age (15) and a lot of other problems just wasn't allowing him to enjoy life anymore.  We still miss him so much.
