    Question about meatballs

Hello, I am new to the forums wonderful to meet you all. I was wondering if you can omit breadcrumbs when making meatballs.. I have recently found out I have a gluton intolerance and i know there is some gluten free bread out on the  market.. Dont have time today to head to store was wondering if i could just omit breadcrumbs from my meatballs.. Thanks for all your comments!

Yes you can! I have friends who add nothing but spices and onions. I often substitue cracker crumbs or dry oatmeal.  Or cornflakes.  Or you can just leave it out all together.   I think people started with the breadcrumbs when they needed to stretch the meal to go farther, now it's just the way most do it, cause there mom did it, cause their mom did it......you know what I mean.

Welcome to the forums, Ajewel!  Lots of nice people and good things here.

I always have used breadcrumbs but my friend never does...and we both make good meatballs.  I too think it was a kind of stretcher like oatmeal in meatloaf.  I'm sure they will be just as tasty without breadcrumbs.
