Jim was sitting around one evening and came up with this
recipe, asking my opinion. I say he came
up with a WINNER.
You can put this all together in the slow cooker, let sit
overnight in the fridge and then start cooking it in the morning or whenever
you need it.
INGREDIENTS:
1
jar (1 lb. 10 oz.) Ragu Robusto! Sweet Italian Sausage and Cheese
1
can (10 oz.) diced tomatoes with green chilis’
2
heaping teaspoons of minced garlic
1
t. Italian seasoning
Salt
to taste
1
lb. Italian sausage (skinned), grilled and cut in half at a diagonal
1
large green pepper (julienne)
1
med. yellow onion (julienne & diced small) (divided)
2
c. uncooked rotini pasta or penne pasta
INSTRUCTIONS:
Mix
in a slow cooker, that has been sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray, the
sauce, diced tomatoes with green chili’s, minced garlic, about half of the
onion that was diced, Italian seasoning & salt.
Then
lay your Italian sausage on top of the sauce. Add the julienne green pepper and
the rest of the yellow onion that was julienne.
Start
the slow cooker on high for about an hour.
Then put on low for about 3 hours.
Then open the lid, and stir things around a little. Then let finish cooking about 30 minutes to
an hour.
Just
before you serve this, cook your pasta according to package directions and
drain.
Put
pasta on your plate and cover with this wonderful sauce.
Enjoy
