    Chocolate Glaze

    I am looking for a recipe for a chocolate glaze for cake that is made with can milk as an ingredient and hardens as it sits on the cake.  My now deceased mother-in-law used to make and my husband, who is not a chocolate fan, enjoyed it.  Does anyone have the recipe???

    I melt chocolate chips or candy bars on top of 13 x 9 cakes but this is a great and easy glaze frosting. I prefer it to almost everything, now. If you use the dark chocolate chips - it is really yummy!

    CHOCOLATE GLAZE

    1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
    2/3 cup evaporated milk (the teeny can)

    Combine chocolate and milk in small saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat until blended and mixture comes to a boil. Lower heat and cook, stirring constantly until thickened. (This makes A LOT OF GLAZE!!!)

    Try this recipe:

    2 T. butter or margerine
    1/4 C. cocoa
    3 T. water
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/4 C. powdered sugar

    In small saucepan over low heat melt butter. Stir in cocoa and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating with wire whisk until smooth. Add additional water, 1/2 tsp. at a time until desired consistency.

    Thank you so much for the two recipes.  I will try them out on my next Sour Cream Pound Cake!
