Lost Beef Noodle Casserole Recipe

I used to make a recipe that was on the back of the bag of Pennsylvania Dutch Egg Noodles about 20 years ago. I tried to contact the company but they said it is no longer available (?).  It was called Saucy Cheesy Bake or something along those lines, with ground beef, egg noodles, 2 cans of Hunts tomato sauce, and cheddar cheese.  As easy as that sounds, I have not been able to locate the exact proportions or replicate the recipe and my kids keep asking for it....anyone out there have the original? 

I think this might be it. I sure hope so!!!!

Saucy Cheesy Bake

1 package (8 ounces) Pennsylvania Dutch Brand Egg Noodles, medium

1 pound ground beef

2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

1/4 teaspoon basil

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon oregano

3 cups shredded Cheddar or mozzarella cheese (about 12 ounces)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Cook noodles according to package directions.

3. In medium skillet, brown ground beef, drain. Stir in tomato sauce, onion, parsley, basil, garlic powder and oregano; simmer, stirring occassionally, 15 minutes.

4. In a 3-quart oblong baking dish, layer 1/2 sauce, noodles and cheese, repeat, ending with cheese.

5. Bake for 25 minutes or until heated through. Makes about 4 servings.
