    Grannies Neighborhood 05/04/08

Good Morning. Nothing new to say here but thought I would open the door and let the fresh air in. I had to count on my fingers to get todays date, I hope I have it right. I will be heading home later today. No big plans just driveing a bunch. I may take my time and stop at a few places along the way. I do not have to pick up the dogs until tomorrow.  Jeff is not up so no coffee made yet. I don't mess with it here he makes it stronger than Ido and it is a Mr Coffee and I am not familiar with that type if pot. I do know I would never want one. I will stick with my Bunn lol. Sometimes think I should use my perculator it does make better coffee just not as big a pot.

    Have a sunny  Sunday.

    MJ

PS:  Wanda I have had that cake but we call it the cockeyed cake. I don't think it would make a very good wedding cake though.

    Good Morning.

MJ, can't believe you are the only one here so far this morning. Everyone must be sleeping in. So would I except it is early church this month. Today is also confirmation in our church. Then coffee afterwards. Our circle is serving coffee next week for Mother's Day. We don't have it after church very often.

It is sunny! and the temp is 41*. But predict it to go to the sixties this afternoon and all this coming week. Sounds good to me.

Good morning, no rolls today.  I slept in and DH and I are headed out the door for breakfast out.  Something that's very rare on a Sunday. We won't be going to church.

LILY  All right! you have sunshine.  Have a wonderful day.

MJ  Have a great day.  I've missed the events of the GN this past week but it sounds like you're at Jeffs.  When will you be headiing home?

GTG, Dh has the car warmed up and I'm out the door. BBL

We just have it in the Narthex (sp?)  Next week being Mothers Day there won't be any Nascar what ever will I do with my time lol. Well coffee is finally ready so time to sit and talk to the old boy and sip some coffee.

    Good Morning Grannies ...

No sleeping in for me today .... I just came back from 7 o'clock Mass and ready to start my day! The weather is yucky but who cares ... I'm alive and breathing and sipping on coffee.Big Smile

MJ ... Safe driving for you today. I'm not usually too fussy with my coffee unless it tastes like dishwater. Rather have it stronger than weak. I think we have a Krups .... now I know I should know ......  but DH is the one who makes it 99% of the time. We've had so many that he's bought over time (always looking for the one that makes the best pot)  that I can't even keep track. AND it's one less thing I have to do!

Lily ... Yeah ... Sun for you! Hope you get time to go out and enjoy it. First Communion at our church this afternoon and Confirmation  next Sunday. This is always a busy time of the year in our parish also.

Waiting for the FM and a nice gooey donut. Oh, Frito Man .... Where are you??? LOL

    Good morning.

No sleeping in when there is a "baby" (puppy) in the house. But Mark is as good as gold taking his turn on the weekends. He was good when Lincoln was a baby too, tried to help out whenever he could.

    STYLIST, enjoy your breakfast out

    MJ, safe travels.

LILY, no sun when I got up but now is breaking through. Enjoy your sunshine.

    MA, thanks for the rolls.

SUZI, love the music you bring each Sunday morning.

LAURIET, nothing fun here, just a confirmation on DH's side. Nice people but very boring. We will be headed home after lunch.

I'm glad DH's relatives aren't fancy people because I have so little clothes to choose from. Nothing very fancy or dressy and I don't own a dress or skirt anymore. None of my nice clothes fit anymore and my clothes for work are quite casual. OH how I wish the styles weren't so much for the younger kids. Time for me to see what I can find.

    Have a blessed day everyone.

    Good morning Grannies!

Got a lot of rain last night with thunder and lightning.  It is dreary looking right now but don't know what it might be later.

Thank you MA for the doughnuts, they look delicious.  And I'll take mine with tea.

DD from HI called at 7 this morning.  I wasn't up but called her back and we had a very nice talk.  She said she had a houseful of kids.  Getting more excited to get there.  I will be going back in 2010 for DGS graduation and she wants me to stay till December when she graduates from college.  Yeah right!  They would have to get me an apartment as we could never live together.  LOL.

Well I have dishes soaking, and need to finish sweeping the floor, also have clothes to fold.  Too much running yesterday and left everything slide here.  So now have to catch up.

    I'll be back later.

    Good Morning...

The sun is shining and suppose to get into mid 60's.  Today will be a good day to get the mower out.  Didn't make it to church this morning.  Our electricity went out around 3 am and didn't come back on til a little after 8.  Sure am glad I have a gas stove.  I was able to boil water to make my coffee.  You just don't realize how much you miss that power til you don't have it.

I'm waiting for a delivery, too, this morning.  Bought a mattress set yesterday for the spare room and they have next day delivery for it.  Works for me.

Time for another cup of coffee............BBL

Good morning. The sun is trying to shine here, sure hope it wins out over the clouds.

MJ hope you get your coffee soon we all get used to our own coffee maker. Have a fun drive home. Hope you find a couple of fun places to stop.

Lily good morning. It's not often that you are the #2 post. Our church is only early in the summer.

Stylist enjoy your breakfast out. Still my favorite one to have out.

Ma you're right we don't need the sunshine to make a beautiful day. Seven is a little too early for me but it's a nice way to start the day. Fresh from the bakery is so nice.

Suzi wouldn't think of telling anyone about your danish.

Lauriet catch up on relaxing time today. Monday comes way to quick.

Mamma have a good day getting together with all of the relatives. They don't care what you are wearing they just like to see you.

Guess I had better get going so my hair will dry.

Have a good day doing what ever you can find that is fun.

    Hugs to all.

     Goooooooood Morning, Grannies!

A cold start to the day, but the sun is shining.

MJ,Nothing new here either. But I will let ou have some coffee. have a safe drive home. I can't believe it is the 4th already. Just turned our calendars yesterday.

Lily, We have coffee and cookies every Sunday after church, but we don't stay.  Enjoy your warm weather. I think it is suppose to get near that here too, with wind, of course.

Stylist, I will put some cereal, toast and jam  out. We will appreciate the rolls more the next time they are here.

MA, I like your attitude. Any time we are up and about is always good.

Suzi, Hurry, we don't want you to miss your ride.

Lauriet, If you want something fun to do, donn't come here. Unless it gets reallly warm and we go out to pick up sticks. Smile

Mamma, Enjoy the time with DH's family. They will be glad you came and won't worry about what you are wearing.

Justme, It sounds like you are getting excited about your trip.

Cjayh, You must have that room almost ready. When is DS coming/ or is it both DSs (and DIL)?

Alby, I hope the sun wins out.

I  Reading is on my agenda today. Maybe a walk after it warms up.

    Re: Grannies Neighborhood 05/04/08

Good Sunday morning, grannies!  I'm feeling really good this morning, so much better than I thought I would be doing so far.  Must be the grannie prayers.  I have to recline whenever possible with no sitting straight up for extended periods of time and no driving for seven days.  I would have gone to church this morning, but wasn't sure I should sit up that long.  The wounds in my groin have to heal over and the doctor says that is the reason for all the restrictions on sitting and moving my legs, etc.  Don't realize how much bending you do at the groin until you're not supposed to do it.  I just need to decide now which kind of allergy medicine I'm going to try to take and pray that it doesn't send my heart back out of rhythm.  Missouri weather this kind of year means lots of pollen, mold, etc., and I seem to be allergic to most of it.  The doctor who performed my surgery says Claritin or Zyrtec, my cardiologist says only Benadryl.  I think I'm going with the surgeon and will try to get back on Zyrtec which is what I took before my heart went wacky last year.

I read yesterday's posts late last night and hope I've caught up with my friends in the GN.  Stylist, welcome back.  We went to the Gatlinburg area in 2006 and it was beautiful.

Cjayh, loved the pics from the Mother's Day tea.  I'll share them with my kindergarten teacher daughter--she's always looking for ideas.  Your strawberry rhubarb pie sounds yummy!

Levram, I'm a NASCAR fan, too.  We like Fords and are so proud of Carl Edwards a mid-Missouri native.  I went to sleep before last night's race was over and don't know who won yet!

IT Cook, your supper sounded so good!

Prayers go to MIMIT for healing for her knee and I was so glad to hear that Ginny is improviing.

ALBY--no curry for me either.  DD#2 lives in an apartment building and an Indian family moved in next door--she can't stand the smells of their cooking.

GrammyOH, hope you enjoyed the baby shower.

GramSuzi, your homeaker tea treats sound wonderful and I love your Sunday morning hymn, felt like I went to church after all.  My girls didn't get any athletic ability from me, either.  They weren't runners like your family, but played basketball and softball.

Gram2Five, I'm lucky that my husband does cook sometimes and he sure has been a good nurse lately, too!

Justme, thank you so much for the card.  What a thrill to find it in the mailbox when I got home.  A trip to Hawaii to look forward to (and especially the family you'll get to see there), what a blessing!  By the way, we have turkeys in the field between our house and my brother-in-laws--I thought of you when I saw them.

I wish everyone a good day--time to go recline for a while.  Will check in later.  I appreciate each of you so much.

    Re: Grannies Neighborhood 05/04/08

    Good morning, grannies.

MJ, have a safe trip home. A few stops at neat places will be nice and break up the drive.

LILY, I was up early, did my fives and then Russell made breakfast for us. Confirmation at our church today, too. And, they serve coffee and treats every Sunday. Hopefully we have some decent weather on the way to us.

OK, STYLIST is munching on toast and sipping coffee at the restaurant.

MA, I see the grannies had an early prayer when you went to 7 am mass. Yes, no FM today, and all I have to offer are Oatmeal Raisin cookies.

SUZI, heard Count Your Blessings on the Crystal Cathedral, today. So, now I am humming that, ever since. Lots of grannies will be jumping for joy with the temps jumping up to a nice level.

LAURIET, we'll let you give a hint for something fun. But, no cleaning allowed!

MAMMA, I have a couple of SisILs that wear skirts or dresses. But, not me. I wear pants, but I do have funky and colorful tops to wear. Plus, I always wear jewelry to match my colors. Glad Mark is good with the "Baby".

WANDA, wow, lots of HI plans for you. If you stay longer, you may not want to leave. BTW, here we call your cake a Wacky Cake. And, it is one of our favorites.

CJAY, I can't believe you will have a delivery on Sun., that is unusual these days. Glad power is back for you.

ALBY, I think the sun will be the winner, today. I saw some nice temps coming our way from the west. Sounds like you are ready for church, too.

FRAN, I am laughing, Russell found one calendar page we forgot to turn. I, too, am waiting to walk later on. My BIL is a little mad, someone in their family is getting married on the day he and his DGC always go to The Ridge to fish trout in the river thru their land. Are you ready for fishing?

DEBBIE, continued prayers for you. Good that you are feeling better every day. And, follow the Dr.'s orders.

Time for church. We will be doing a warm-up before the service. BBL
