    Help! Basic butter Cake Recipe

    Hi, I use a basic butter cake recipe for all my cakes. I just use different icing, fruits, etc.

    My last few cakes have been very porse and dry- can anyone help me?

    I use 2 sticks butter

    2 cups sugar

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    3 eggs

    3 cups self rising flour

    3/4 can of carnation milk

    Check to see if you changed brand of sugar or flour. After using Domino pure cane sugar forever, SIL bought store brand. Seems it was beet sugar. It messed up a few batches of cookies before she switched back. Everything was perfect again.

     

    By the way, is that evaporated milk?
