    DD got pooped on! LOL.

So DD's class, grade's one and two, got to tour a local Dairy farm.  Well, #1, it was stinky, and #2, a cow pooped, and it went splat, and hit the kids! LOL.  Lucky for DD, I suggested she wear splash pants, as it was rather chilly today.  So only her splash pants and coat got hit, the rest of them..........didn't have splash pants!

I hope they had a LOT of good clean-up on hand for those poor kids.  I can't LOL about this, I can only think of the possible contamination on clothes & shoes & hands.

THat's just gross.  I'm sure they laughed about it all the way back to school.

Well, maybe some of them?  Actually, DD had nothing on her clothing, so I am sure it was cleaned up, but seeing that most of the class is made up of boys, well, there is a good chance there was laughter!

I know my ds would have thought it was "cool" to have the cow pattie splash him! He thinks the barn smells good when we visit our friends farm.

Cow poo isn't that bad ....... just ask Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs!

I watched him the other night when he was "inseminating" cows. What a riot that was!

ahh Summer, if you lived on a farm, you would be calling it nature, instead of all those scary looking names.  Must suck living in fear of everything!  I certainly won't tell you any stories of my childhood, I happen to live on a hobby farm, heck we even raised worms!  Now tell me those big names and what could have happened to me.

it is proven that farm kids, and kids that actually spend time in the mud, are more healthy because they are not only exposed to some mildly harmful bacteria (which any farm mama will agree with me, if they come any where near the front door covered in something, they are either hosed off outside or straight into a bath--weather permitted of course! )  but also the GOOD bacteria!  the more we antibacterial-scrub our children and our homes, the more we get rid of the good bacterias in our lives, and then we are consequencely sicker because of it.

besides, dirty kids are happy kids.  it means they have BEEN OUTSIDE!!!!  instead of locked up indoors

Cow poop won't kill ya... I can hear the kids laughing Char!!!  I grew up on a dairy farm...good grief we were in tha barns daily and yup it wasn't clean...although mother probably wished we would some days... we never died... we were actually the healthiest kids around....I think we over sanitized the kids and they are all alot sicker now than when they were aloowed to be kids and eat dirt, play in barns etc.. we were not bleached at the end of the day...and there was no such  thing as EColi

Not as much as having my kids get pooped on or having my cat get thrown down an embankment.

Sorry.  You pushed my button there.

I stand by my original facts of cow poop being one method of transmission of zoonotic diseases.

That may very likely be true, but they didnt' exactly stand under the cow, then play with it, they simply got a bit spattered on their boots, and maybe a bit on their pants.    Of course we could lock the kids inside school and turn on educational cartoons so to keep them safe from any sort of exposure of any kind.  All in the name of health
