Good Morning Ladies - What are you doing up so early, Pat?  Is the body rebelling from all of that yard work?  One of the guys I'm working with is headed up your way for the fishing opener-He's taking today off, and then doing some visiting along the way, and will fish hard tomorrow at Mille Lake. He worked in that area before he got married, so likes to go back once in awhile.  It's looking like rain here this morning too!

No paper again this morning - Now I don't think my schedule has changed much, so I know who's has!! I'm not liking it either.

My chicken was gooooooooood again last night. Their special last night was ribs, and it smelled so good when I walked in,that I almost weekened and ordered that, but I really do like their chicken, and then I have 2 pieces left for today sometime.

NOt much other news here - Hope you all have a day you can enjoy - - sending prayers for our friends needing them most.

Good Morning Pat and Jane. Cloudy here so far. Not a good forecast for today and the weekend. Rain showers on and off.

Pat, I finally have my body reconciled to working and bending and moving. It took a few days however. Now it is raring to go and the weather is being balky!   Give Ginny a hug Left HugRight Hug

Jane, this is Preston's big weekend with Trout Days activities. Seems they always end up with it sooooooooooo hot or else rainy.  Yes, our variety store is closing. But not due to WM. They have a good business, but for personal reasons. They had it up for sale for a  year, but no takers. The city worked hard to find a buyer, but no luck.  It is too bad, as it was so popular with people from all over the county coming here. Tourists loved it, and many younger people were amazed as they never knew what a "dime store" was until they visited it. We are still lucky to have a very good hardware and he will try to fill some needs of the variety store.

I don't know why I'm up so early, but am wide awake and no place to go work outside Sad

Morning. I think we are having another day of spring. Kind of cool but I'll take it. Gary is working on planting some day lilies but the ground is still kind of mucky so it's kind of slow.

Pat thanks for the coffee. The opener will be cold tomorrow. Do you go?

Jane it sounds like you might have a different paper deliverer. It's nice to see you in the morning but when you have to change your schedule the day just seems wrong somehow.

Lily when I drive down the main street of Litchfield it looks like it is almost empty. So many of the stores that were there when I was growning up are just empty building now.

Apple "fishing migration" is starting early Friday the freeways heading north are crowed with cars and trucks pulling boats. The roads are terrible.  Then Sunday night they all come back. Especially this weekend cause it is the "opener" that's when the fishing season starts here. It started last weekend in Wisconsin. Gary only fishes bass and the opener for that is two more weeks away. Then he will be one of those idiots out there but his lakes are close so he doesn't have to travel so far.

Guess I must be early today. Gary is on the treadmill and Albert is on the bed.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning to all the Grannies.  Cloudy here but there isn't suppose to be any rain. It is 51* going to 62*. Oops, just got the word---30% chance of rain today. No-no-no-no!  I want to go to the nursery!

BlueSpruce--Thanks for the coffee and toast. I'll add strawberry and blackberry jam.  Hugs to Ginny when you see her. Hope she gets home soon. She is probably wishing for that.

Greenback--No Paper!  Do you have a new delivery person? That was always the way it is here. Just get use to a certain time and they get us a new person.

Lily---Sorry the 5 and10 cent store is closing. I miss the one we use to have. There is a nice one in a town here in the county and everyone my age loves to go there. Can find what you want, unlike the $Dollar Store. Sorry you can't get into the yard to work today. Maybe this will be a baking day -- for the weekend.

Apple---Seems like anything we do out of the ordinary makes our muscles ache and our bones creak.  I just try to work thru it.

Well today is hair-do day and I want to go to the nursery over in Illinois. Also need to renew my prescriptions while over there. Got to save on the gas.  Sad Gas went up 20 cents yesterday. Saw the lady at the gas station putting up new numbers. Didn't check the other three stations, but they usually all go up within the day.  Now it is $3.89 9  DH says the coffee drinkers at the local eatery were talking $5.00 soon. Guess we will be staying home.

Got to go and get dressed and ready for the day.  BBL

Goodmorning GranniesCool Have to make my own sunshine here today and for the weekend. More rain and chilly.

BlueSpruce I hope there's a large lemon poppyseed muffin, if so I'd love to have oneStick out tongue Glad to hear that Ginny is doing ok, that's a long hospital stay.  My yard work is all caught up now till I get some mulch. Since I no longer have a truck or van I'll wait for #2 to come with her truck then she can help me spread the mulch tooBig Smile

Greenback I hope that newspaper delivery gets back on your schedule! I would love to have a bunch of friends to eat out with now and then. I'm so out of touch with everyone. Maybe I'll find some people who enjoy doing things. Or reconnect with some old friends.

Lily, my you're and ealry bird this morning. Sorry to hear that another mom and pop store is closing.

Apple I have some painting waiting to be done and I hate the up and down on the ladder. It's just a couple of steps but hard on the knees.  I'll try to go get Little Apple and bring her over here

Got to get ready to go to the mission today!

Good morning to Alby, Blue Spruce, Greenback, Apple and Lily and all others yet to come to the GN today.  More rain here in Missouri--not heavy, but definitely more than a sprinkle.  There is already standing water in the yard.

Blue Spruce, I hope Ginny is continuing to improve.

Alby and Blue Spruce, the Lake of the Ozarks here in central MO is famous for creating similar "migrations" on Fridays and Sundays--mostly people coming from St. Louis to fish, swim, etc.  I've heard statistics quoted that it is the third busiest waterway--next to the two oceans!  It is absolutely booming there in spite of the downturn in the economy.

Greenback, I get an evening paper, and I know how upset I am when I get home and it is not  there!  Hope your paper comes soon.

My last day at home before going back to work, but I must admit I feel ready to go back and a routine is what I was wishing for when I was so sick and dreading the surgery.  I'm going to make up some freezer meals with some chicken breasts I cooked and chopped up.  When I'm working I always find recipes for  good casseroles that taked cooked chicken and I never have any, so I wanted to take advantage of the time off to do that.  I'm still taking it easy, but these are easy to make and I can have a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

Lily, hope you get outside today.

Apple, enjoy your trip to the city.  I need my daughters to teach me a few things about posting here, too, so I can't be of any help to you!

Have a good day, my friends.

Hi Pat thanks I grabbed a cup. What season is opening tomorrow Pat. Trout or something else? I need to do some yard work but my mower is still at the repairshop. He sure is slow I will call and bug him today. I do not need a nasty letter from the city.

Jane sounds like your paper carrier has changed his schedule. Leftovers are good makes for easy cooking.

Pat is Ginny getting tired of being in the hospital? Maybe she will get tired of it when she starts to feel better. Will she have someone to stay with her for a few days when she gets home? She is on my mind a lot. She is so tiny to start with makes you worry a bit. Left HugGinnyRight Hug

Lily all of the dime stores are gone here also. As a little kid I loved the dime stores. My grandmother used to buy a lot of embroidery supplies at the dime store. When ours closed I picked up a lot of things for knitting and some for embroidery. I sure do miss the store. When my girls were little the dime store was on our agenda every Saturday too.

Alby and Apple we don't seem to have a fishing migration here but boy do we ever have a deer hunter migration in November. We have a big gathering of Motorcycles in the spring as they go about 50 miles north of here for the blessing of the bikes. The road is jammed with motorcycles. I can't remember when it is this year but I think I may have been gone when it was I think it may have been last weekend. Not sure I wonder if Char or Rita know when it is. They take their bikes to Baldwin to the Catholic church to be blessed.

Suzie Ihave heard the $5.00 rumor also. I think this is all so rediculous but then I am sure there is a reason for it. Let me think maybe Greed. The whole thing makes me feel sick. It also makes me feel a little fearful for my personal financial well being also. This to shall pass. I wonder if they will raise Social Security a little more due to the high cost of living?

Grammy I worked for so many years and my DH did not like to socialize so I have never had a group to do things with. I doubt if I ever will. I think  I am a bit of a loner also. I would never even suggest it to anyone I would expect them to say "You have to be kidding why would we want to do anything with you?" I view myself as unworthy of mixing with the local people. Some things never change. I was not good enough as a kid and I am still not good enough. Born on the wrong side of the tracks and you can't kick that.

Good Morning Debbie so glad you will soon be back to your routine. It sure sounds like your surgery was a great success.

Well time to get some breakfast and do a few fives if I can. I have that pile of pills to swallow also. I hate pills don't mind the shot but the pills are another story.

    Good morning, grannies.

Cool, droopy, even light rain, here.

PAT, muffin and coffee, I can handle that. Hope you can finish before the rain drops. Continued prayers for Ginny's healing.

JANE, I would lasso the paper deliverer and give him a what for! We need that paper in the morning.

LILY, we can say Boo to the weather all over the neighborhood.  Too bad about the variety store. I love to shop in them when we go to the trailer.

KATHIE, safe travels to the "big city". I went back and checked out the goat picture on the Yarn thread.

ALBY, we see the ribbon of boats for fishing, too. And, the same happens deer hunting start. Russell is antsy to garden just like Gary.

SUZI, good to have an errand list to save on gas. Our gas is the same price, but a few are as low as 3.76.

Have a good mission day, GRAMMY.

LITTLE APPLE, bet you like your presents. Hope there will be cake left for the grannie chat on Sat.

DEBBIE, rest good and prepare for your work return. Sounds like you are ready to get back in the routine.

MJ, we have motorcycles on the big road near us every day. We are a mile from the Harley store. And, you can lose that attitude right now, girl, you are lots of fun. I wish we were closer, I would probably bug you more than you would want. The Diabetic Connection has a recipe thread, and the last recipe posted is for Apple-Rhubarb sauce. It is very similar to what you did.

I will be meeting with Delta Kappa Gamma friends. We are choosing the recipient for the scholarship our group offers.

I think I heard Russell say, Farm and Fleet. So, off we go.

MORNING ALL!  YUCKYStorm day here, chilly too.  DH just left to take my aunt to the hairdressers.  We're supposed to go shopping today for gifts for a bridal showers, then to lunch.  I don't think I'll be doing much housework today.  There's always tomorrow.

LILY  I miss the 5 & 10 cents stores.  Now it's dollar stores.

MJ  It would be nice to have a nice raise on social security.  Don't think that will ever happen.  You should never say your not good enough.  I know how you feel though. I remember when I was in high school there were girls in clicks.  I was never good enough for them either.  Oh well, we should say it was there loss.
