Photo Challenge for Tues. 5/13.......please keep bumped..

Going to start this tonight, I'll again be gone early tomorrow morning and won't have time to do it then.  The challenge for Tues. is to again show us Spring at your house, the same place you showed 2 weeks ago.  Let's see lots of pictures and please help to keep this bumped, thanks......Gram  Smile

Top picture is today, bottom picture, same area, different perspective, but 2 weeks ago.  We have stems today and today is uglier than 2 weeks ago, waiting for the tulips and daffodils to die off, then DH will plant some flats of flowers.  The tulips for Tulip Time were just great, but I can remember other years when we had a "stem" festival instead of a tulip festival......Gram  Smile

Just a quick bump for the day crowd.  Have fun, I have a day and a half worth of running to do, plus a class to go to before the knee surgery.  Had forgotten that one UGH!!............Gram  Smile

Sorry, I had to cheat a little.  I took this last week as I knew the blossoms wouldn't last with the up and coming storms we got.

Not much change here.  The area I am photographing isn't the best example, but when we started this, the camera I had would only work when I plugged it in, so I was limited where I could go.

    Good morning, everyone.

Here are photos of my perennial garden, two weeks ago, and this morning:

Here is a closeup of my hardy gardenia azalea. If you look closely, you can see 2-1/2 inches of rain water in the gauge -- that's on top of two inches we had late last week!

Susan, do your fences keep out human "critters" too.  Oh my how good that all looks.  That's one thing about living where we do, condos don't lend themselves to gardens.  DH used to always garden, but no more.  We bought one tomato plant, and it's looking really good, has blossoms, so we'll see what we get.  It's NOT a patio tomato either, it's a regular tomato.  We've tried patio tomato plants and they do nothing, so thought we'd try this.  I can already taste the BLTs (I hope, I hope)........gotta run, the hospital class won't wait.......Gram  Smile

Gram, the fence around the vegetable garden is short enough for a human critter to step over, but high enough to keep out rabbits, which would otherwise eat everything in sight. Squirrels climb right over, but usually don't cause a problem -- they like to dig in the dirt. Over the weekend I saw a couple of birds outside the fence, trying to figure out how to get through the wire -- I wanted to explain to them that they should just fly up & over.

The back yard is totally enclosed by a chain link fence. It's not very attractive, but it belongs to the neighbors. We have almost no traffic through the back yard, where the vegetable garden is.

Your tomato plant sounds like it might do well -- good luck with it. (Are we going to see a picture?)  And best of luck with your pre-surgery classes, and the upcoming knee replacemement. I hope your knee will be as good as new in a few months.

    Smile

This was two weeks ago.  Pretty pathetic!

This is today!   Those are hostas in the front, but I see some other things have crept in, too.  And behind them are some ferns and I don't know what else.  Might be weeds!

Today. Lilacs are gone and tulips are gone. The trees are pretty well leafed out and are looking good. We have had a fair amount of rain this spring. Hope it keeps up as it should.

Here is a closeup of the pansies. This color doesn't show up well from far away. I don't know if they plan to put in impatiens this year, but I hope so. We had slight drought last year and the flowers didn't survive well.
