Good morning all.  We are to hit about 75º and then get some rain later today or this eve and tomorrow.  Got out the rest of my cuc plants and found where one of the extra tiny tomato plants I threw out in my garden out the door took root so i uprooted it and replnated it where a bird got the other.  See how it does.  I'm going in to the office for a bit today, do chart reviews and then will come home.  Ed finished up the lawn after the men left and he had spread plastic over it all.

Margie, yum, your breakfast sounds great.  hope you got to enjoy it.  Take it easy today.

Cherie, hope you have a wonderful vacation.

    Sherry how are you feeling?

Hi to everyone else.  Hope you all have a great day.

    Happy Thursday!

    Good Morning June Friends!

Looks to be a nice day here, sun is rising and supposed to be in high 60's.

Boys have a scheduled late start today (2 hrs) so I'll be behind all day.

Hope to play in the dirt sometime today.  Yesterday went to greenhouse and bought my plants.  I need to go mow lots today or tomorrow. Ours will need to be done soon too.

Took hamburger out, I'm thinking just a simple casserole for supper.  I can mix that up this morning and just throw in oven at suppertime.

Margie -  sounds like a good  "me" day for you today.  What kind of gravy did you make for breakfast?

Cherie -  Have a super fun vacation!  Praying for safe travels for you and your family.

45º & sunny here, supposed to get near 60 later, but cloud up again. Sad

I have laundry, of course, and several little odd jobs to do today. Also need to finish my grocery list; I plan on going tomorrow as Saturday is opening day of summer ball, unless it rains again. Need to decide on supper & have it ready early as Danielle has practice tonight.

Margie, your breakfast sounds so yummy, sure hope you got some before Daniel ate it all, LOL!! Hope the weather clears up so you can sit out on your swing! Supper sounds delicious too!!

Deb, waving hi, hope your day goes well & the rain stays away!

Jill, glad they got the concrete finished. Sounds like you've done a lot of work in your garden; we hope to start ours very soon. Graduation is the 25th and party the 31st.

Patti, sounds like a nice day, hope you get to play in the dirt after you get the boys off to school!

Cherie, hope you & your family have a wonderful vacation!!!

(((Shirley))) sorry you are having such a hard time going through your things. Have fun making the collage for Kassie's graduation - we will be doing one for Shelly too!

Denise, sounds like the masonry project is coming right along; how long until they finish?

((Kim)), sorry you've been having so much pain. I've had larger blinds do that same thing to me a few times, very frustrating!

Waving hi to all the Junes, hope everyone has a great day!! hugs,

    .....been trying to post .....

I've been trying to post the recipe for the pork roast I tried last night with no luck. Must not like my copy and pasting from another website??? Who knows.

I'll try typing it out myself.

I found this recipe on aaa-recipes.com.  I enjoyed it, nice for something different.

    PORK ROAST WITH RHUBARB SAUCE

    4# boneless pork loin roast

    1 tsp.salt

    1/8 tsp. pepper

    ½ tsp. ground ginger

    ½ C. sugar

6 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed

1 # fresh or 16 oz. frozen rhubarb, cut up

    Heat oven to 325º.

Rub pork with salt, ginger and pepper.  Place meat in shallow roasting pan and roast about 2 hours. Baste with ½C. of oj concentrate during last 30 min.

Meanwhile, mix rhubarb, sugar and ¼C. oj concentrate in medium saucepan.  Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered about 8-10 min. or until rhubarb is tender and has made a nice sauce.

Serve hot sauce along side the roast.

    * I made my roast in crockpot instead and poured the oj over roast last hour of cooking, basting a couple times.

    hugs.....patti

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/15/08

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is doing well this Thursday morning. Having my usual morning routine so far. I have laundry going in the machine, and just finished breakfast, Total cereal with fruit instead of the instant oatmeal I usually have. Today I'm going to do spring cleaning in the front entry way. Last night dh and I decided to do our grocery shopping at Xpect. WE usually go there on Thursday, but decided to go last night instead. I'm glad we did since it wasen't that busy, and now it's done. Supper for tonight will be the leftover velvetta casserole and a salad.

The masonry job is coming along great. The wall is almost finished and  they are laying down the bricks for the patio. After that, the driveway will be broken up, and a new one will be paved. Hopefully they will be done by the end of the week, if not early next week.

Not such a nice day weather wise. it rained a little overnight, and so far, it sprinkles once in a while. I hope the workers could still come. I think they will since we're not going to have heavy rain today.

Thats all for now. Hope everyone enjoys their day. I'll check back later

    Denise.

Margie, your breakfast sounds good. Glad you get to have a me day. You sure deserve one.

Jill, have a good day doing chart reviews.I am feeling somewhat better but still not completely up to par yet.

Deb, hope you don't get too much rain. Have a good time at walmart and with your mom and the boys.

Patti, have fun playing in the dirt. If I don't have to work registry today (which I kind of hope I don't since I'm still not feeling up to par), I am thinking maybe the ham and pasta casserole (it is basically macaroni and cheese with ham and broccoli thown in) would be good and maybe I can get a swim in and do a bit of laundry and some general straightening around the house and some parish nurse things I need to do (like watch those other two videos so I can take them back and get the last one. I want to make that pizza pasta casserole again soon or else pizza because I have pepperoni I got on sale awhile back that I need to use...but don't think my stomach is up to that yet. If I don't make the casserole, might make BLTS for dinner and have leftover salad with.

    Cherie, have a great vacation.

Lisa, hope you are able to get your shopping done. You sound busy with all the ballgames and graduation and things.

)))))Shirley))))). I have a hard time going through things too. Its wonderful to have so many great memories, but it is hard to look at the pics of them sometimes. Sending prayers. That was nice of you to fix such yummy cakes for a lady you aren't thrilled with. My tendency would be to bake one that is ok, but not as yummy as those. You must be nicer than I am.

Margie, as far as Sams club goes, spices in huge containers and things like coffee and creamer, cheese, big tubs of margarine, sometimes ground beef in big packages if you have the capability to bundle it up in smaller packages and freeze it, batteries (like AA etc),books are the lowest priced things I can think of. If you can find it there, they often have multi pack restaurant size packages of Morrisons country gravy mix. It makes wonderful sausage gravy and biscuits. I can't remember my ratio of milk to gravy though. I used to have it down when gregg was here as he loved that stuff. The first time I tried a few weeks ago it was too runny. Last night it was too thick even though I kept adding more milk. Only use a couple cups of mix though, not the whole package. I used to have one package last for maybe three meals. Also their pasta, vanilla, parmesan cheese, ramen noodles usually, sometimes macaroni and cheese. Most of the other meats and vegetables are not that great a deal. Enjoy the free samples. I haven't been to sams but once since they moved it and I didn't renew my membership because I like the location of Costco better and my pastors wife has a card with me and they go there a lot. Big warning. It is really easy to spend a whole lot of money really quick in those warehouse stores so make sure you kind of keep a running total as you go!!!

Hi to everybody else. Got to get my hair in rollers just in case, but I'm somewhat hopeful that they might not call as they have often called by now if they are going to.

    Good Morning June friends!

I've had a couple of busy days, cleaning the house, working outside, getting the camping trailer ready, shopping for clothes and plants... last night enjoyed DD's soccer game, it was a beautiful evening to sit outside. I had my doctor follow-up appointment Tuesday, seems like it'll be easy to correct the under-active thyroid as long as we can  find the right dose. Hope it gets corrected soon.

Today I have to do a big grocery shop, take another load to the trailer, go for my needle, pick up DD from school early and hurry across the city to her school soccer game, then back close to home for her other soccer game... other DD has to work after school, so she'll miss school soccer. I might meet my sister for coffee today if we can find a time it works for both of us.

Tomorrow I have to prepare some food, pack up the last of the stuff and we are off to the campground after school!! YEAH!!

    Have a great day ladies!!

Joy is not in things, it is in us.

Re: June Cleaver Club Thursday 5/15/08

Hi   well you guys always make me feel so good....Margie my Mom used to make what she called Poor mans gravy when she made pork chops and I just loved it,  I can't seem to have the patience to wait for the drippings and flour to get brown enough..so mine never gets as nice looking as hers, I don't make it much due to the fact Kelly does not like pork...poor girl.

Sherry Hi hope you feel a little better,  and Kelly said the cakes were very good and she even brought home a  piece of the strawberry one...now get this friends...the birthday girl did not even thank everyone for the luncheon...and since I was not there two gals had to do all the clean up and not the one who threw the party for old gal 40...I really made the cakes for the other co-workers anyway..I usually try to find the best in people but this gal makes it really hard to find  the best in her. She really want to own a pet shop and is always bringing in snakes until our BOss said no more snakes...

I made a Duncan Hines golden yellow cake the normal way in a 9 x 13 pan and poked holes in it with a straw and had made sugar free strawberry jello with only 1 cup hot water and 1/2 cup ice cubes and let it barely jell so that it was runny and poured it onto the top of the cake and than opened up a can of strawberry pie filling and some thawed frozen strawberries and spread that on top and then in the morning covered it with cool whip...Kelly said it was just wonderful and everyone loved it...she wants me to make some for Kassies gradlation party. gulp....the other one was just a Duncan Hines devils food cake mixed with 1 can cherry pie filling and 2 eggs and when it was still warm poured a combiniation of cho. chips and milk and vanilla over the warm cake it was like fudge on top...that was gone in a flash because they all love chocolate...

I am staying home today to finish up and getting some more cookbooks packed up and all my lighthouses, Scott said he would put up shelves for them instead of the two wroght iron stands I have, I want to get rid of a lot of stuff on stands on floor...a smaller computer table too because it gets cluttered...I hope I can stick to my guns and give a lot away to the rummage sale at work...I know it is morbid but I don't want the kids to have to go through my stuff and decide what they want to keep or toss, it is not a fun thing to do....not that I plan on leaving them but it will make me feel better,,of course  if  that "rich old guy" takes me off on a white horse they can just toss everything, not likely since I tend to laugh if someone does show interest in me.. Jerry is a tough act to follow....well off I go to get something else packed up .    take care   Shirley

Good Morning my new June friends!

MARGIE....I just love the gingerbread man in the red wagon!!  I wish you could e-mail him to me so I could print him off on my printer....he's precious!!  Thanks for the great honeybun cake recipe, I can't wait to try it out.  You will love your new Sams card.  They have great produce there.  My daughters love their huge boxes of brownie  and cookie mixes.  It makes is so easy for them to throw something together for their friends.  SherryS listed a lot of good things they offer--their books and movies are so much cheaper.  Let us know the good deals you find!

JILL...Thanks for your encouragement yesterday concerning the Enbrel.  I am going to the doctor's office for them to train me, probably the first part of next week.  My husband's secretary also takes the Enbrel shots and they have been so great for her.  She said she almost feels "normal."  She's very supportive and encouraging so I will have some wonderful help.  Are you a nurse?  I somehow missed that....

LISA...Hope you will have a few hours of nice weather before the clouds roll back in.

    SHEILA....How was the zoo?

SHIRLEY...You are very good at making up recipes.  I didn't grow up cooking so its hard for me to put ideas together,,,,I always need that recipe card right there in front of me. LOL

SHERRYS.....Glad to hear you are feeling some better now.  Thanks for the great veggie recipe site....I will go there to find something new to fix my girls.

Today is supposed to be my hubby's day off but he had to go in for a meeting this morning.  We will probably have lunch out today and maybe get a few errands done.  We need to take the truck in for an oil change and I need to run by the tag office to get a new tag sticker for my daughters' jeep.  I could also use a few groceries but I'll see how much I can get done.  I might have to save that errand for in the morning.  Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed day!

    There's always time for gingerbread!

Good morning.  Looks like it is shaping up to be a nice day.  Hope to get outside once I get some indoor things done.  I'm going to do a little baking, cinnamon quick bread for afternoon snack & dinner rolls for supper.  Aside from fresh picked asparagus I have no idea what I'll serve with the dinner rolls.  Dh & I could dine on just that but, the kids aren't too crazy about asparagus yet.  I have a ton of eggs to wash today.  Will send ds over to the neighbors with some later on.

Thankyou to whoever gave the advice about looking for a guitar on ebay or at a pawn shop.  I'll need to check to see if we have a pawn shop anymore.  The only one I knew of, the guy retired a few years ago.  As for ebay.  I have no idea how that works.  Some day I'll have to have one of my nephews teach me about it.

Margie, love the siggy!  Your breakfast sounds good.  Have fun at Sam's club.  We use to have a card. I always loved their fruit, it was always fresh & good tasting.  We would also by dog & cat food there.  I guess you just need to know what things cost in your grocery store & compare the prices.  We were always able to get dd's soymilk there for a lot cheaper.

Patti, do you ever go to Jung's for your gardening needs?  I always like looking around in there.  Another nice gardening place is O'Malley's on Hwy 22 south of Montello.

Well, I guess I had better get a move one.  My youngest nephew wants some attention.  Enjoy your day.

    Becky

    Hi Ladies,

No time this morning.  Kids are moving S-L-O-W  today.  They had swim practice yesterday evening and it really wears them out.

I will be at Donnie and Tommy's school all day for Tommy's class retreat.  I am in charge of the table where the kids decorate the cross-shaped sugar cookies I made.  The theme of my table is "God gives us everything we need"  so I had to provide enough sprinkles, icing, candies, etc so that the kids would know that it is more than they could ever need, just like God provides for us.

Well, I better get going.  Going to be close to 100 today - ugh.  Debating on whether or not to turn on the a/c since I won't be home most of the day.

    Have a lovely day, everyone

    kathleen
