    Canadian Corner 16/05/08

    Good Morning CC Friends

Well looks like a rain event for the long weekend - not quite the wash out it was though the first of the week.

Today is slave day - I'm also going to get a bag of soil and a few flowers and do some for the balcony, when they get around to me I will put them down by the pool. I cannot sit out there with kitty and no flowers. Planted my herbs yesterday.  Also need to go and pick up my new glasses and drop them a heep of money.

Need to clean windows too and decided I'm putting the A/C in the back of the apt. so I will have some reprieve from the heat. The side they are working on now, there is a bachelor apt. which means she only has the balcony doors and they are blocked off. The air is so stale she said its just awful. At least I have the bedroom and Den windows that will never be in the way of these guys. I have a corner apt. Anyone in the middle I would be taking off for the time they are doing them.

Hope you all have a great weekend - anyone travelling please be safe.

What a nice surprise having CB back on here. I miss you sweetie, get back here. LMBO

    Good Morning Crea and Friends,

This has been a cool month, but it can change so quickly.

It was great to see CB post, my DD had dial-up for a long time and got so fed up with everything taking so long. She got satillite high speed, something I didn't know existed. Ladies it would be something to look into. If anyone is interested I could ask her how to get it.

The death toll keeps rising in China, they are still finding some people alive...what a deadly earthquake.

Crea, happy to read that you will be planting some flowers...that a girl.  We have to look at everything in a positive way, although it's hard to do in some cases.

Working 4 hours today and then off,  can't wait to see Crea tomorrow.

Katie you got the crown today, what will Yooper say..lol.

    Have a great long weekend.

    YF

     Music

    Coffee Good Morning ALL!!!

Well, Crea, Katie and YF are the early birds today! Where is everyone else? Having an early lazy weekend, maybe?

I've been doing my balcony pots slowly, a little at a time, with emtpying the soil from several, into a big bucket, mixing and loosening and refilling the pots. Last year, I did all of them at once, and was in agony for days, with a sore back. There's no great hurry. I have one more lot of them to do, and will sort out the seeds. I've been busy with files for students. I have one girl doing her grade 4 exam in August, and she needs everything on CD, sooo....I have to write all her pieces, studies, and technical work into a music program, export the midi (sounds), convert to WAV file so it can be played on a normal cd player, and then burn to a cd. I DO wish I got paid for the extra time I put in for these students. Others have recitals coming up, and they need their tunes on cd as well. I'm not sure I understand why, but they're requesting them...I'm not offering. I'm willing to do it, though. Surely they can HEAR what they're playing when they practise? Oh well, if it helps....

I saw some fireworks last night already! With all the homes in the valley, hidden by the trees, there are a lot of people who do displays, and will, all weekend.

I'm off to find coffee...back in a bit

YF, what will Yooper say? She'll say "be darned sure you clean and polish MY crown!"

Glad to see there are some who are already up and at 'em. I had a baaaad night. And I dreamt that we bought a house in Kentucky and the whole house, every doggoned room, had paneling in it. Every room! And, not bad enough that every room was paneled, but it cost us $10,000 to have it removed and the walls repairs. Oh, wait! That wasn't a dream, it was a nightmare.

It was so nice here yesterday that we had all the windows open. Ahhhh. It's still very warm this morning and sunny right now. Rain is supposed to start after 1 pm. Let's hope it's waaaay past 1 pm. Kids and g'kids should be here between 11 and 12. We told them to allow an extra hour for drive time since it's road construction season. The joke in the UP is that we only have two seasons: winter and road construction!

Gotta go get my coffee. Everybody have a good day.

Good Morning Weebill - glad to see you stop by - you must be counting the days for school to be out. Have a good day sweetie.

YF- looking forward to seeing you and Andre tomorrow too.

Just had a chat with Katie - another busy day for her.

Well I better get in gear here - get out before the crowds do.

    Good morning all,

Still cloudy & cool here today  You girls better find another garden to raid this year. If you get in mine, you won't come back out, just sink in the sunset.LOL

.We're supposed to get  Munchkin to take to the park. Don't know if it will be warm enough by noon.

Cleaning day today, but I got some sewing done yesterday. Got a diaper caddy done & it looks really cute. Michelle is afraid that the earthquake wiil slow the adoption down even more. Now I'm making her some blanket buddies. Got to get some boy colors to make the new Munchkin some too.

    Gotta get busy.

Good for you Crea, getting flowers. You may get to use your balcony all summer, you never know. Hugs to you, Maria & André.

Hi all. Well I finally dragged my butt out of bed. Yesterday morning I could hardly get out of bed so into the Dr we went. After 2 hours and lots of tests said I have a very bad kidney infection. So have some meds for that, sure make me sleepy but I guess that is OK.

Hope the campers have a nice weekend, our forcast is for beautiful weather. Safe travels to all.  BBL

Oh, dory, I hope that clears up...nasty things, those kidney infections.

HMPH, char ran off for the weekend without even a wink or a nod...HMPH

There's a full moon coming on the weekend....after reading some of the posts over the last few days in Kitchen Chat, I HAD to go check...yup, full moon. Now, can anyone tell me.... if ALL the studies out there refute the superstitions about the madness leading up to a full moon, then how  come there seems to be more madness just before a full moon than at other times?...oh yes, and I've noticed, it's every OTHER full moon.

What a funny day here...lightly overcast and a little dull, but still bright out, and cool, even if the thermometer says that it's warm.

I'm taking a break from student files....should be doing more balcony pots, but don't feel like it. I think I'll find myself some lunch.

    Re: Canadian Corner 16/05/08

Waving hello from our little haven in Alberta. I'm just up as I didn't get to sleep until the early morning hours. Thankfully we have no young children at home to care for, but I do have to work a long shift later today and into tomorrow.

Hope the fires within an hour's drive from us will be under control by now. A friend of ours lives in the danger zone. I'm sure she's been on an evacuation alert. The wind isn't as fierce as yesterday, so that will help firefighters a lot.

It's a beautiful day. My temperature thingy isn't working, but it's probably at least 20*.

Ouch! I'm having very painful spasms in my right abdomen. Maybe I should get that checked out at the hospital. If it's appendix my supervisor will have to find another staff to come in for me. Sure hope not.

    Gotta go...jp
