I am beginning to think there is a bad

featire on this new board. It may not be a bad idea for Reiman to take the PM feature off the board.

I also think quite a few people have some growing up to do.

I could not disagree more!  The ability to post pictures and active links is nice, but the availability of Private Messaging is what I consider the best improvement over the old software.

On the old setup, one had only the options of revealing their personal email account to everyone on the board in order to give it to one person, or making all of their comments public ones.  I greatly value the ability to hold a one-on-one conversation from time to time, although it's not an option I use often.

Take away this ability just because occasionally someone abuses it?  Punish us all for the misdeeds of a few?  You wouldn't accept that reasoning in physical reality, why would you suggest it for our electronic relationships.

Make all telephone lines party lines so that nobody can ever say something mean in a private phone call.  Make all houses of clear glass so that nothing naughty can go on inside.  Does that make sense?  Not to me.

Now I feel so stupid...as soon as I hit post, the light bulb went off!  I looked up there and found that I  had a message waiting from Marinemom! LOL

Nah, just because someone occasionally goes ballistic like the nasty cake b!tch, why punish everyone else who likes, and uses, that feature?  Sorta like deleting your email software just because you received some spam, doncha see.

I don't think this is  'sad' at all.  It's real life.  What would be 'sad' would be for no one to react to that sickening PM.   Sad?  Nope.  Mad...you bet.   Besides, I've seen adults 'act like this' and worse at a kids ball game. 

Hello?  This is a 'chat' room.   With all due respect, I don't think anybody on here has the right to tell another to 'grow up.'  Unless you've walked in their shoes you have no idea how deep this kind of hatred goes.  You have no idea how much of this hatred some might have dealt with  way before seeing it on here.    When you play with matches your gonna get burned.   This has nothing to do with being a 'grown up' and everything to do with being outraged and voicing that outrage.  Perhaps you'd do it in another way, or perhaps you don't really care about this topic at all.  It's always easy to 'point fingers' when you couldn't care less about what's being said. 

This hatred hit a nerve and some of us reacted to it.  Perhaps in a 'knee-jerk' way.  So what? 

You don't like it?  Don't look!  But, don't preach to me about my maturity  when you have no idea who you're talking to.

I have been on the recieving end of tacky words. It is no fun but by no way should the pm from this board be taken off. I love the notes I leave and recieve. Some people will never agree or just out to hurt you for the moment. But add up the ladies who take the time to care and write those special, loving words. This is what counts.

Reiman needs to install an old nag filter. 

I'll venture a guess that I have been sent 50 PM's since this board opened up.  So I get 1 vile one and suddenly the private message feature is a bad idea?

I think that's like throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Outlook Express addies should be kept off the board but 99% of the people on this board also have a THROW-A-WAY e-mail, either gmail, yahoo or hotmail. Latter 3 addresses can be posted on the board and are also fine to carry on private conversations.

.It does not matter to me one way or the other, since this new board has been in existance I have sent no more than 5-6 private messages , none of them were gossip messages or about other posters . I used the PM feature as a  comvenience because did not have an e-mail address to send my note to.

Maybe Reiman should NOT have named the feature P:RIVATE Message, a better name would have been: Fast Forward.

Widdle, I believe Grelo made the statement about growning up.  Why didn't you direct your message to her? I think there are a lot of double standards here and you all only go after certain people.   I am not a stranger and have been here longer than you have and so has Grelo.  I stand by what I said, if you don't like it don't look, I have a right to my opinion.  Yes, I see very well how you all like to stir things up around here that's why most of the nice people don't come here anymore.  Trying to start a feud....no thanks.  So rant & rave all you want and show your ignorance as I will definately NOT be reading it.
