    Mailing Cookies

Hi, I just joined and didn't even realize that this Taste of Home Newsletter I have been getting

has "groups" on it!  OH, well....I have been searching for a cookie recipe that will travel well.

I know all the traditional choc chip, toll-house recipes, but for some reason the last year or

two I just they just haven't been the same.......could be the cook!  (LOL!)  anyway I want a

really great recipe for a lonely old person about 2500 miles away, so I must make something

that will travel well and be good when it gets there.  He does love Choc. Chip cookies and

Old-Fashioned stuff too (he is 75yrs old),  Can anyone help me?  Thanks

hey welcome, this section of the group side is not very active anymore but we have moved the thread to the regular "recipes" forum. And actually I know more people would answer the question there, since a lot of people send cookies and breads overseas.

We like to send peanut butter, ginger snaps, snickerdoodles, oatmeal cookies......all old fashioned recipes that mail well for us.

How about some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies..they travel well..they stay pretty moist for about a week. Or some apple cookies with raisins. Popcorn makes a great filler for sending cookies.  Just double bag your cookies so that they won't have the popcorn taste in your cookies.

Oh!  I have good one!  I just made some and sent them to my mother in law in Maryland and I live in Georgia.  I found the recipe in my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook.  It is for Fudge tassies.  Similar to Pecan tassies, definitely a blast from the past!  If your interested let me know and I'll be happy to type it up for you!!  My mother in law called me after she got them and accused me of trying to pass of something store bought as my own.  I first made them as Christmas and gave them with other cookie varieties to my neghbors and friends.  Almost everyone called back and asked for just tassies in next years box!

     I'm happy to share!
