How much batter for pan sizes?

    How much batter for pan sizes?

    I would like to know how much batter a 6" pan should be filled with? ex: how many cups of batter.

    8", 9", and so on. Can anyone help me?Tongue Tied

    I was a cake decorator for many years and when I got a new pan, regardless of the size, I filled it half full of water, mesured the water and wrote it in a note book, for that pan.  Then I added that much batter to the pan.  If you wrap the pan with strips of old wet bath towels the batter will rise evenly.
